Eminently portable at 5.6 lb and with a built-in 2.4 GHz wireless receiver to adjust power remotely, plus TTL support, the AC/DC Baja B5 Battery-Powered Monolight from Dynalite is a 500Ws strobe that in situations that lack access to mains power, can run on a removable, rechargeable lithium-ion battery that generates 280 full power flashes and thousands of low-power flashes on a 2.5-hour charge. Alternatively, the versatile Baja can also be powered in the studio via an optional AC adapter. Recycle time is a fast 0.01 to 2.3 seconds using the battery and 0.01 to 2 seconds via the optional AC adapter. The flash head also features action-stopping flash durations as short as 1/12,800 second for special uses, while power is adjustable in 1/3 stops over a wide 9-stop range. The Baja also supports High Speed Sync as short as 1/8000 second, to tame bright backgrounds or shoot with wide apertures.
Among the Baja B5's premier features is TTL support for Nikon, Canon, Fujifilm, and Sony cameras thanks to a built-in wireless 2.4 GHz radio receiver. With separate purchase of a brand-dedicated transmitter, you're able to wirelessly adjust the power and LED modeling light, and effect +/-3 stops of TTL exposure compensation, as well as trigger the Baja at a distance.
A traditional built-in optical slave is included too, for triggering the Baja with another flash as well as a stroboscopic mode that fires the flash up to 99 times at 99 Hz.
