Enjoy a broad soundstage with the Definitive Technology BP9040 Floorstanding Speaker. It features a built-in side-firing 8" powered woofer to augment the bass and has a rear-firing 4.5" midrange driver and 1" tweeter to complement the front-firing 1" tweeter, two 4.5" midrange drivers, and aforementioned woofer. Two side-mounted 8" passive bass radiators are also onboard to help augment the low end. Use of both front- and rear-firing drivers helps to create a broader, more balanced soundstage than with a front-firing driver array alone.

The BP9040 accepts 50 to 300W from your amplifier via its binding post inputs, while the powered woofer connects via an RCA LFE port. A dedicated height speaker is available, offering a viable solution for those looking to eventually upgrade to an object-based audio configuration.

Aluminum Dome Tweeters

The tweeters are designed to produce a higher frequency than the human ear can hear to help create an authentic reproduction of sound as the artist intended.

BDSS – Balanced Double Surround System

The BDSS is designed to enhance driver excursion and produce bass output typically associated with a larger driver while retaining the dispersion and midrange definition of a smaller driver.

Acoustically Transparent Grille

The grille is designed to be acoustically transparent, so you can enjoy your audio without having to remove it.

Inert, Resonance-Free Cabinet Design

Enhanced rigidity and bracing helps improve imaging while reducing resonance to help produce clean, powerful sound.

Cast Aluminum Base with Spikes and Floor Glides

The wide footprint helps increase overall stability of the speaker, while the addition of spikes or floor glides help keep the speaker firmly in place whether on carpet, hardwood, cement, or other solid floor surfaces.

LED-Backlit Logo

To highlight the integrated powered woofer and show that the speaker is receiving a signal, an LED logo is built into the bottom of the front panel. You can turn it on or off as you choose; it will also automatically go into standby mode after 20 minutes without an active signal.
