The MSI MEG X570 ACE AM4 ATX Motherboard is built on the AMD X570 chipset, supporting second- and third-generation AMD Ryzen processors with an AM4 socket. It has four memory slots for up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM, which can be overclocked to up to 2666 MHz. For storage, it's equipped with four SATA III ports and three M.2 slots. In total, there are three PCIe 4.0 x16 slots for graphics cards and two PCIe 4.0 x1 slots for other PCIe-based hardware. Whether you're using a single or multi-card setup, they will run at x16/x0 or x8/x8 with the last slot only supporting x4 mode. Other integrated features include dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, one of which is a 2.5GbE port, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Bluetooth 5.0, and Realtek ALC1220 7.1-channel HD audio.
AMD X570 Chipset
The AMD X570 chipset is designed around 3rd generation AMD Ryzen 3000-series processors. Along with multiple improvements, its most noteworthy one is the addition of PCIe 4.0. PCIe 4.0 has roughly double the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0, which is beneficial for graphics cards, networking devices, NVMe drives, and more.
Cooling
The MEG X570 ACE utilizes heavy duty heatsinks on the MOSFETs for reliable processor power delivery and on the chipset to ensure the system stays operational under intense workloads. It's also equipped with multiple DC/PWM fan headers for users to connect additional cooling solutions. Users can set their cooling preference (Boost/Balance/Silence) as needed within the Dragon Center software or its UEFI BIOS. Moreover, MSI's M.2 SHIELD FROZR heatsink helps to prevent SSD throttling.
Lightning Gen 4 PCIe
Aside from the increased transfer speeds with PCIe 4.0, MSI's Lightning Gen 4 PCIe slots are reinforced with steel and built with a server grade PCB for additional durability. Please note that PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0.
CPU
A combination of an optimized circuit layout and MSI's CoreBoost CPU power delivery system ensures performance and stability for high-end processors. Additional features include load-line calibration, overvoltage protection, a digital power deign, and double power connectors.
Memory
MSI motherboards feature an optimized memory circuit layout and extensive compatibility testing with major memory manufacturers. Users can also easily overclock their RAM with A-XMP profiles within BIOS.
Storage

USB 3.2 Gen 1 features a maximum throughput of 5 Gb/s. USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 3.1 Gen 1, and USB 3.0 are synonymous. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, USB 3.2 Gen 2 features a maximum throughput of 10 Gb/s when used with compatible devices and is synonymous with USB 3.1 Gen 2.
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) & Bluetooth 5.0
The Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard provides higher network efficiency, faster Wi-Fi speeds, greater coverage, and improved battery life for connected devices. Bluetooth 5.0 also provides users with cable-free device connectivity.
