I used these at my lst set of interviews. Easy to use bightness and color controls with plenty of illumination. Love the Kelvin readout.

CCT/HUE/SAT/SCE knob breaks

I ordered three sets of these lights. I've had knobs 4 of the 9 lights break. The CCT/HUE/SAT/SCE knob gets jammed and wont turn or able be pushed in. These lights seem to be designed for studio use and not in field production.

We recently purchased this light kit as part of a STEM grant for our classroom. We needed a lighting solution that was light and portable that would allow us to set up a portrait studio just about anywhere. These fit the bill nicely. They are light weight and fit neatly into the included case. For the cost I have no complaints. They provide plenty of light for our needs and they allow us to have some visual interest by changing the hues. As a bonus there was a promotion when we purchased them for two free batteries and a charger. We also have a very similar set of Dracast lights and these compete well with them. The only advantage to the Dracast lights is that they have aluminum barn doors vs the plastic ones on the GVMs. Under normal use I really don't think this would be an issue. In a school setting this did become an issue. I have had students knock both lights over at some point. The Dracast had no damage and the GVM barndoors broke and were unusable. I searched the GVM sight to find the replacement and I could only locate aluminum ones and the description did not indicate that they were compatible with the 800's. I contacted customer support and they were more than helpful. They responded quickly and offered to send a replacement for free. They certainly did not have to do this as it was clearly our fault they were broken. This really leaves me torn for my rating. I am going to give the lights a four star for the plastic barn doors detracting slightly from the quality but kudos to the customer support team for the generous help. I would purchase these again for sure.

This light kit is decent for the cost. I use it primarily for RGB lights in the background and accent or hair lighting. If you're hoping to use this as a key light, I'd get a proper light. 4 stars only because the build quality feels cheap. It works great, but it doesn't feel quality.

If you want quality lighting on a budget, GVM is your new best friend! The Rgb 800-D package works wonders- you can set your temperature color, you can adjust the intensity, you can pair lights to act accordingly with each other, you can adjust the lighting color with a push of a button on the back, and finally the gvm app gives you even more control and options to make more unique lighting scenarios. I have been using them on all of my projects and they have really upped my production quality across the board!

You have 4 controls on the app. -intensity -tungsten to daylight temp RGB color for the RGB LED's, which are interspersed with the tungsten to daylight LED's -relative power between tungsten to daylight and RGB Manually you have also some funny weird settings, for the unlikely case in which your working place, desk or studio, becomes all of a sudden a disco.
