Atomos ATOMXMMQR1 Reviews
Fell Apart After One Year
I had this mount for a little over a year. It worked fantastic at first, but at the end of the year the mount cannot hold the monitor upright. The monitor routinely falls over, sometimes with such force that it throws the monitor off my camera cage and onto the ground. Tightening the the allen screws doesn't help unless you want a monitor that cannot move. I own 3 Atomos monitors, all of which work fantastically. This Atomos mount doesn't live up to the high standards I'd expect from Atomos. Atomos will not repair or provide information to repair the mount. I'm giving it two stars because when it did work as it was designed to it was a great mount.
Worst atomos product i own
After a short time it became impossible to use it without an Allen wrench. Everytime i touch it after tightening, it just goes limp. Almost damaged my NinjaV ton of times. And i was very careful not to overtighten. They need to put on a lever you could grab to tighten, so it would work as described. Could potentially cost you a lot of $$ in damages..
Better alternatives out there - poor value
I purchased this for my Ninja V and it gets the job done. However, there are alternatives on the market that work just as well (if not better) for much cheaper. The fact that Atomos' own product doesn't use the Arri-style pins at the bottom of the recorder is a shame. Falcam's F22 Quick Release Pan Head is about half the price of this, with more than double the features, as that one can turn (as well as fully lock in position) and has a whole suite of additional mounting accessories. While Atomos' mount works fine, it's a poor value.
Fantastic Mount!
This is a great mount for the Atomos Ninja V. It mounts securely to my camera, via the shoe mount, and it is a snug swivel-----not too loose, which I really like. I think the quick release plate is very useful.
Perfect fit
high quality, works perfectly.
Love It
Picked one up a boxed second hand off B&H. Ive put up with cheaper mounts and they all have been a compromise. I should have bought this one in the beginning!
Super Stable
Super stable mount. I can rotate/tilt my Ninja V anywhere and it's always secure.
Atomos Mount
It's sturdy and holds the angle of view. Overpriced though.
