Venus Optics Laowa 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 Reviews
Well worth the money
I own the Leica 24-70 and 14-24mm zooms but they are very heavy and have a limited zoom range. Not great for some areas of photography like events. I now carry Panasonic 28-200 and this 10-18 beauty. Much more range at a fraction of the cost. Of course they don’t have the quality or speed of the Leica zooms but they are more than adequate while they excel at what they do best. I’d buy this lens again in a heartbeat!
Good for the price
The lens gives access to very wide focal lengthes which Nikon doesnt offer at the moment. It has very nice sun star shape with acceptable to minimmum flaring. The build is metalic and feels very good. However, you need to watch out for the heavy softness at the edges, sometimes it is as bad as you need to crop your photo. The vingetting is heavy as well, but easy to fix in post process. Finally, it has very clear focus breathing which will makes focus stacking more chellanging. Finally, this lens is very good for the price point.
