iOptron 7434 Overview

Transform your smartphone, tablet, or computer into a wireless controller for your CEM40 equatorial mount with the iOptron iStarFi Wi-Fi Adapter. It plugs directly into the mount via the included RJ11 cable and begins to generate its own WiFi signal that allows you to wirelessly connect to your mobile device without the need for a router. Since it uses the telescope's power, there are no batteries, plugs, or additional cables required.

The iStarFi works in conjunction with the free SkySafari mobile app available for iOS and Android devices and is ASCOM compatible so you can use your favorite planetarium program on your computer to control your mount through any web browser. The app can assist with telescope alignment, and if you hold the screen up to the sky, it will identify the objects based on your location, date, and time. To prevent other users from accidentally taking control of your mount at star parties where multiple iStarFis may be present, you can opt to activate the password-protection feature.
