HuddleCamHD HC-EPTZ Overview

A webcam made for professionals, the UHD 4K USB 3.0 EPTZ Conferencing Camera with HDMI Output from HuddleCamHD adds electronic pan, tilt, and zoom (EPTZ) to a compact design. The 8.51MP 1/2.5" CMOS sensor captures up to UHD 4K30 resolution video and features a dual-mic array to capture crisp, clean audio. It sends audio and video out to a computer via USB, or to a display via HDMI.

The camera is plug-and-play, connecting to your host computer using a USB cable, which provides power to the camera. The camera's 108° ultra-wide field of view is ideal for use in small huddle rooms and streaming spaces, and its 4K resolution helps maintain detail when zooming in on participants' faces with up to 8x digital zoom.

The included IR remote control can control the camera's zoom and focus, store up to 10 preset positions, and configure the camera's settings. Other features include an LED to show when the camera is in use, MJPEG/YUY2 video formats, a 2.8mm focal length, and a durable aluminum and plastic enclosure .

Can it automatically zoom in on the person who is speaking?

It can zoom in using preset frames in Auto-Frame mode but it does not use audio cues to zoom in on whoever is speaking. The automatic framing is movement-based so that if the number of people in frame is reduced, the camera will switch to a tighter frame highlighting the remaining participants. Voice-based tracking is available using Panasonic PTZ cameras and Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphones (SESLCEILMIC2) or AVer PTZ cameras, Shure or TeamConnect mics and the PTZ Link software. Note that these systems are in a higher price range than the HuddleCamHD UHD 4K USB 3.0 EPTZ camea.

The description says that EPTZ can be controlled over the USB. Is there an app to do this? By HuddleCam or is it expected to be built into the computer OS?

E PTZ is controlled via the included IR remote: Zoom in to and create digital ePTZ presets that you can recall with the click of a button, using the included IR remote. ***NOTE: Take control of your camera with the included IR remote perfect for framing your look on a video call or producing a live stream online. This camera even supports Zoom PTZ camera controls for ZoomRooms and Far End Camera Control. The PTZOptics Camera Control app now supports Huddlecam ePTZ cameras.
