This seventh-generation camera in the esteemed RX100 series is the second to feature the impressive 24-200mm-equivalent ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens that covers wide-angle to telephoto focal lengths for greater shooting flexibility in a variety of conditions. Making use of the extended range is a redesigned 20.1MP 1" Exmor RS CMOS sensor, along with an improved BIONZ X image processor, for fast shooting performance, high sensitivity to ISO 12800, and UHD 4K video recording. The updated sensor design is all about speed and enables blackout-free continuous shooting up to 20 fps for easier subject tracking. The Sony RX100 VII does include an AC adapter with a USB connection and a Micro USB cable in order to charge the battery within the camera. If you prefer a separate charger, you may purchase the Sony BCTRX Battery Charger, B&H # SOBCTRX. https://bhpho.to/2tfobTZ

Can the RX100 VII immediately play back slow motion in the camera and via HDMI out, or does the file have to be removed and processed in software before it can be viewed in slo-mo?

The playback of HFR video files can be done directly on the camera or when connected via HDMI. The file would need to finish processing in camera before the next action.

Does it make sense to buy this if I have an iPhone 11 Pro?
Asked by: Jonathan
While the iPhone definitely has it’s uses, the RX100 VII has a 1”sensor for much more accurate capture of color and light. It has far superior image quality with a broad range zoom lens to capture a variety of subjects with smooth and seamless zooming while shooting video. Low light capability is noticeably better for those times when a flash or video light would ruin the ambiance of the photo or video. Capturing action is far better with the Sony. You can freeze action with great ease as well as having smoother panning with 4 stop stabilization to aid in low light photo or video. And for the occasion that you may want to enlarge an image, you can make a high quality enlargement to hang on your wall or give to a relative. Having Eye Auto Focus and Animal Auto Focus is a huge plus when capturing people and or pets. And finally, having the ability to produce quality bokeh or background blur is easy with the RX100 VII when shooting in aperture priority or manual mode.
