Will this run a webcam to my 2018 macbook pro?
Asked by: Robert
It depends on the camera, it's connections, and the program you're using, but probably yes. This takes multiple USB 3.0 connections into one USB 3.0 or USB-C connection. USB-C is probably what your MacBook Pro has. I use this on a 2019 Macbook Pro.

I purchased this in November 2020. Nice sturdy piece of hardware, but some USB devices to not seem to work with it. The light above the slot does not light up, and the device is not recognized. For example, my Epson Perfection 4870 Photo scanner. It's not that the slots are not functioning, because I have moved working devices around to double-check. Does this hub maybe not work with devices that are too old?
Asked by: Virginia
It is entirely plausible that some older devices would not be compatible with this hub.
