The 18" BladeLight Tungsten LED Light with Gold Mount Battery Plate from FloLight is a unique linear array of high power LEDs that uses a movable lens to offer the user a choice of 20, 60, or 120-degree beam angles. The fixture has two built-in channels that run the length of the fixture. Sliding the lens into the top channel will give you a 20-degree spot light, while placing it in the middle channel creates a 60-degree beam spread. By removing the lens completely you'll get a wide, 120-degree flood light. FloLight also includes a cut-to-size Lee 810 Zircon diffusion filter for extra soft light. Built-in barndoors offer another path to light shaping from wide coverage to the narrowest slit to suit your subject's requirements. The included Double Ball Mount supports 25 lb and allows easy horizontal positioning for wrap-around light, as well as vertical positioning for use as a key, fill, or accent light. Multiple units can be attached end to end or side-by-side to create a larger fixture.

The BladeLight has a color temperature of 3200K to blend in seamlessly with ambient light indoors, or to match other tungsten-balanced fixtures. The light's high CRI rating of 98 is a testament to the light's advanced precision in the rendering of colors. Light intensity is variable too from 10 to 100%.

The BladeLight runs on 100 to 240 VAC current for worldwide use via its power supply but it will also run on batteries thanks to its Gold Mount battery plate.

BladeLight Cuts in a Single Direction, like a Fresnel

The BladeLight includes barndoors that are there for more than holding gels and diffusion. The barndoors allow the BladeLight to cleanly cut the light in one direction without multiple shadows thanks to its Linear LED Strip design.

Focusable Light

The BladeLight features three beam angles that are accessed by sliding the included lens into one of the two available channels or by removing the lens completely. The top channel will give you a 20-degree spot light, the lens in the middle channel will give you a 60-degree beam spread, and by removing the lens completely you'll get a wide, 120-degree flood light.

Gels and Diffusion

FloLight has tested and found some of the highest quality and longest lasting gels and diffusion material for the BladeLight. The light comes with cut-to-size Lee 810 Zircon Diffusion and 1/8 Diffusion filters.

Double Ball Mount

The BladeLight features a Double Ball Mount that has a 25 lb weight capacity and allows the fixture to be easily positioned without having to adjust your light stand.

Softbox-Like Wrap-Around Light Quality

Because of the BladeLight's long form factor, you can simply rotate it horizontally to your subject for wrap-around light, or vertically oriented for a key or fill light. The included Zircon Diffusion gels turn the BladeLight into a soft strip LED with a 120-degree beam spread of soft, smooth light with precise single source shadows.

18" and Powerful

Providing a 500W hotlight equivalent, the 18" BladeLight provides more than adequate performance while drawing a fraction (50W) of the power consumed by other fixtures.

Can these be mounted on a 14 ft ceiling, and is there installation assistance?
Asked by: Pho
You could mount them to a 14' ceiling. Camera settings will determine how well they work at that distance. We do not offering an installation service at this time.

question

Does the light flicker? I see flicker in Cheesy Cam's review when the light is dimmed down low:https://youtu.be/_15aLmv-8zY
Asked by: David
Emm has already addressed the above on his Cheesy Cam website review on this light fixture, which you may view on his website with his responses in the Comment section under the video. He stated that the units that he used were early prototypes of the Flolight Bladelight that he was sent from Flolight before final production. He admitted that the prototype had flicker when it was dimmed all the way down to its lowest setting (which it was for the video), but no longer flickered once the power was increased up to 10%, with no flicker from 10% to 100%. He stated it was due to the power supply he had on that particular light fixture, and his other power supply did not have the flicker issue, and that the final production versions of the light would be stable. Flolights are used often in television production studios and are known for being flicker-free light fixtures.
