DJI Mobile 3 Reviews

Not excellent, but very good!

The DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Smartphone Gimbal is an intuitive and reliable device with long-lasting battery life. However, the DJI Mimo app doesn't display all the shooting functions available on the phone, even for those officially listed on DJI's website. Once set up in Mimo, the stabilizer responds well in both the native camera and the Mimo app, and the buttons function properly. I tested it on a Redmi Note 9 Pro, and while there was some noticeable shake when shooting at 1080p 60fps, the footage was still significantly smoother than handheld shots. The gimbal performed even better on a Samsung S20, with no issues, although Mimo only allows shooting in 4K, 1080p, and 720p at 30fps. Unfortunately, the buttons didn't respond as well in the native app on Samsung. On the positive side, the gimbal doesn't tilt the horizon and stabilizes well during running. Object tracking works excellently, although it may lose track during fast movements. It occasionally glitches in sports mode and twists, but overall, the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Smartphone Gimbal is a solid investment for enhancing mobile videography.

More fun than I thought.

I'll be honest. I didn't think I was going to have as much fun with this as I do. I originally got it to use as a fast way you place my camera on my desk or tabletops for a small YouTube channel I have, but when I started to test it, I quickly found myself taking it everywhere. It's a lot of fun and really stable.

Design and quality strengths for DJI Osmo Mobile 3

What I like about the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 design: - Foldable design significantly reduces size; - Gimbal can charge the mobile device; - Impressive hyperlapse function; - Active Track works well for a product at this price; - Arm design allows microphone attachment; What we'd like to see improved: - Gimbal must be balanced every time the phone is attached; - The gimbal base does not allow the device to sit without a tripod; - The lateral orientation of the gimbal arm requires habit.

it grips the phone better, i have the big galaxy note 20 ultra and the holder works better than the newer one that is magnetic. plus i stilll cant tell whats different between the 3 and 4 besides the locking mechanism, as the features i used on the 4 are present in the 3

The audio does not sync with video which I found out after the purchase, has been an issue since 2016. All customer service can offer is to tell you to reinstall the app after you restart your phone... like it has nothing to do with their hardware. Youtube and even their own forums tell you about this issue since 2016. Yet they still offer no fix nor do they warn you about the issue before your purchase. Buyer beware with any of their Gimbals, as it is still an issue with the newer versions aswell.

It is a good product, it made the job, but sometimes it is a little bit hard to do the job when I plug my lavalier to the iPhone.

Unfortunately it is not. This gimbal works with smart phones between 170 to 230 grams, the Pixel 3a is 147 grams. It is below the minimum capacity for the gimbal.

Asked by: Junsang
I don't see any problem you could have . My phone is 6.2 inches screen size which is exactly the same of the new galaxy S20. OSMO 3 supports till 85mm phone's width. So you should be pretty covered.
