I am reading the specifications document of the DS-7716NI-I4/16P (downloaded from Hikvision USA site). Under the decoding section, it states capability: 4-ch @ 4K or 16-ch @ 1080p. What does this mean? Only 4K play back for 4 cameras simultaneously? not all 16 cameras?
Asked by: Vunghi
This is only for live view it'll still record @ 4K on all channels

Do I need to plug all 16 cameras directly into ...

Do I need to plug all 16 cameras directly into the poe ports? Or can I use a switch downstream of these to aggregate cameras into a single connection on the camera side while still leaving the main network connection free? (I need to keep the cameras isolated off of our actual network)
Asked by: Christopher
The best practice would be to have a poe switch connect to port one on the NVR and then connect the LAN port of the NVR to your network.

question

Is this NVR is compatible with AXIS (8.3 MP) and TRENDnet (4MP)?
Asked by: Anonymous
This model is Onvif Profile S compatible and should work with many other cameras. To confirm complete compatibility you would need to need with the camera manufacturer. Please note some features and settings may not be supported/adjustable directly from the NVR and instead must be directly set by the camera?
