Perfect size for my needs.

I was using my large ICU bag, but it barely fit my Nikon 180-600mm lens with the camera attached. It bulges the bag out a bit. With the XL ICU bag, it perfectly fits the lens with the camera attached, AND the lens hood in place. Of course, it fits all of my other lenses, flash, and accessories as well with no problem.

The ICU is well built. 4 stars because it's a bit overpriced for what it is. I wanted a camera bag with MOLLE attachment points. I found the Pro XL firs the 5.11 Rush 72 backpack like it was made for it. I folded the lid under the ICU and placed it in the bag. This gives me a good hiking bag that has the ability to stow the waist belt when you don't need it and lots of MOLLE webbing. I feel the camera is well protected in the ICU and makes for quick deployment. I suspect this pair will last me for years to come.

What's the weight limit on the handle? Can you pick it up when full? Is it padded?

I use this case to store lenses. The case is padded; the handles are not. It is not designed or intended to be used to transport camera and lenses over a distance by itself. Like the other size cases in this line it is intended to be placed inside a pack or other carrying device. It seems plenty strong, and I have no concerns in carrying it from its closet storage location to another nearby location. But for longer distances this isn't the best choice-not because of strength but because it is fairly large and somewhat unwieldy. It works very well for my purposes.

Well, it fits but you lose 2-3 inches at the top of the ICU because it is bigger than the Tilopa opening. I can still fit a lens in that area but it takes a little effort to take it out. Given that situation I would still get the X-large if I had to do it over again because I carry a lot of equipment in my bag.

The external dimensions of the f-stop PRO ICU (Black, X-Large) are listed as 7 x 11.5 x 19". The dimensions of the main compartment inside the Shimoda Designs Explore 40 Backpack (Blue Nights) are listed as 11.4 x 17.3 x 6.7". It appears the f-stop PRO ICU (Black, X-Large) is slightly too large to fit inside the Shimoda Designs Explore 40 Backpack.

Anyone ever tried to drop this in a 1510 or 1535? Seems like it might fit, but the width is different by .3".

Unfortunately is it just about 1/2 off in 1 dimension so it will not fit either of those cases.
