ProGrade Digital 128GB UHS-II SDXC Overview

By B&H Photo's

The 128GB UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from ProGrade Digital features a storage capacity of 128GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support maximum read speeds of 300 MB/s and maximum write speeds of 250 MB/s. This card has also been designed with the V90 Video Speed Class rating, which guarantees minimum write speeds of at least 90 MB/s, allowing the card to be used in DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, camcorders, and digital cinema cameras that produce rich data streams, including 6K, 5K, 4K, UHD 4K, and high bit rate MPEG-4 video. It is also well-suited for raw photos and rapid-fire bursts.

UHS-II cards achieve their speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V90 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V90. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V60, which supports minimum write speeds of 60 MB/s, UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantee minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

Built for extreme conditions, ProGrade Digital's 128GB UHS-II SDXC Memory Card is able to withstand temperatures from -13 to 185°F, allowing you to take this card with you into extreme environments, such as snow and deserts. It is also shockproof and X-ray proof, and a built-in write protect switch helps to safeguard your content from being erased.

ProGrade Digital 128GB UHS-II SDXC Reviews

Take a chance?

I'm a hybrid shooter using Sony A1, A7R4, A74 and 6600 for mainly corporate events. Purchased the 128 GB sd card 2 pack and one of the clips was corrupted and had 28gb of footage on it or about an 50-75 mins during a keynote speaker with my A cam. I had already recorded 14 VIP interviews the day before and they still remained on the card. Fortunately the rest of the day the other clips that were 18gb, 20gb and 8gb were not unsupported or damaged. Trying to use the Prograde evaluation software to recover the file but it's not looking good. Kind of disappointed that BH would carry a brand that is brand new and I'm having buyers remorse along with some terrible anxiety that my hard work is lost. Sure I have an off camera shot with my gimbal but it was mostly b roll. Hoping that BH will accept my return and refund. Guess I should have purchased the more expensive Sony version along with the Cexpress cards for Slot 1.

Expensive but works well

I use these in a Sony Z280 and so far, it has worked great, no issues at all. I've bought several now and am very pleased with them.

i actually did quite a bit of research before buying this card. i just got a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k, and needed a memory card that could store footage at 6k resolution and give me sufficient recording time for short video projects. will need additional storage eventually but a good staple item!

For today's uses, you need a V90 SD card

For today's high end cameras, a V30 card is barely usable. A V60 works, but with some limitations. DO yourself a favor and spend a little more to get a V90 card. The ProGrade V90 SD cards are lifesaver for modern day photography.

TERRIBLE

Both of the cards in this two pack failed within 1 hour of each other after shooting with the Leica SL2-S. I had only shot maybe 100 images with each card.

The speed is lower than stated by the manufacturer

I tested on the fastest USB 3.1 gen2 card reader, 10 Gbps. And connected with the corresponding port on the computer. You can see the results in the screenshots.

Will these work on the new Nikon Z6 II and Z7 II cameras?
Asked by: Henry
I don't see why not - it's a fast SD card, and they should be compatible unless there's some weirdness. Of course, remember that the Z7 II and Z7 II are really CFExpress cameras with backup SD slots - a CFExpress card is going to be much faster than any SD card (and Nikon has designed the cameras to take advantage of the super fast CFEXpress card, so they might not have the buffer of a camera designed for slower cards). I don't have a Z6 II or Z7 II, but I do have an original Z7, which has a very small buffer, but a very fast buffer clearing speed. They have increased the buffer in the new models - but by how much?

Does this work with the same codecs and formats that the Tough G does with the a7S III?
Asked by: Ignacio
V90 is currently the the highest possible write speed on an SD card, so on paper, this is one of the more capable SD cards for the A7SIII. It shouldn't differ from the Sony G-series cards in any way, but I'd consider getting CFExpress Type-A cards in order to maximize your camera's potential.

Are these cards 128GB each per card or 2 cards of 64GB each totalling 128GB? The description in the write up is confusing.
Asked by: Soon Huat
Hi, sorry that there is confusion in the listing. Our two packs are two cards each of that capacity. So the 128GB two-pack contains two 128GB cards. I hope that helps, let us know if you have any other questions. -ProGrade Digital
