ProGrade Digital 256GB UHS-II SDXC Overview

By B&H Photo's

The 256GB UHS-II SDXC Memory Card from ProGrade Digital features a storage capacity of 256GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus to support maximum read speeds of 300 MB/s and maximum write speeds of 250 MB/s. This card has also been designed with the V90 Video Speed Class rating, which guarantees minimum write speeds of at least 90 MB/s, allowing the card to be used in DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, camcorders, and digital cinema cameras that produce rich data streams, including 6K, 5K, 4K, UHD 4K, and high bit rate MPEG-4 video. It is also well-suited for raw photos and rapid-fire bursts.

UHS-II cards achieve their speed through an extra row of pins and while this card has been designed for cameras that are UHS-II / V90 compatible, it may be used in devices that do not support UHS-II / V90. However, bear in mind that this card will then default to your device's speed class and bus rating, such as UHS-II and V60, which supports minimum write speeds of 60 MB/s, UHS-II and V30, which supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s, or UHS-I and U3, which also supports minimum write speeds of 30 MB/s. If your device does not support U3, this card is compatible with the U1 and Class 10 standards, each of which guarantee minimum write speeds of 10 MB/s.

Built for extreme conditions, ProGrade Digital's 256GB UHS-II SDXC Memory Card is able to withstand temperatures from -13 to 185°F, allowing you to take this card with you into extreme environments, such as snow and deserts. It is also shockproof and X-ray proof, and a built-in write protect switch helps to safeguard your content from being erased.

Pretty quick benchmark (220MBs Read / 200MBs write)

Benchmark of both cards show aprox 220MB/s read, 200MB/s write for both cards. That speed doesn't always translate to better buffering times though, my Om-1 seems to clear the the buffer of 90 images (Raw+JPEG each to a separate card) in about 18 seconds or ~110MB/s. Time will tell how they hold up.

quality card but....

Quality card but did not decrease file write time on my canon m6 mkII as compared to a Lexar v60 rated 150 write 250 read speed card.

Been using these exclusively since Feb 2022 and I haven't had any issues with capture/transfer. Some folks use in body USB C to move their assets from camera to computer to avoid issues, I have been using a reader without a hitch. Also haven't had to worry about time with 134 minutes each on the clock filming in [email protected]

Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera use UHS-I SD cards. You can use ProGrade Digital 256GB UHS-II SDXC Memory Card on your camera but there are no improvements on the camera speed performance because you attach a faster card.

What is the fastest card reader for the UHS-II SDXC V90 memory card for a 2019 Mac Pro computer?

If you are using a 2019 tower Mac Pro computer, as it should have USB-C ports, the ProGrade Digital Dual-Slot UHS-II SDXC USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C Card Reader, B&H # PRGRWSDHCXCA, the Angelbird SD Dual Card Reader, B&H # AVSDD31PK, and the GNARBOX XQD 2.0 Reader with UHS-II microSD/SD, B&H # GNGBX20X6XQD, would be good options compatible for your usage needs.
