How are these powered? Is this powered by a 2nd cable? Or is the BNC cable integrated with the power cable? Does the cable go into camera via the ceiling/wall mount? Do you have to drill a cable hole through your siding? Is a PoE system better for power distribution?
Asked by: Rodney
The cameras are HD-analog cameras. There are two wires. One for video and the other for power. The cable should be through the base of the camera. POE just means that you are running a single Ethernet cable as opposed to 2 wires Siamese.

I have an older model of Lorex installed. The infrared is ok on 3 of the 6 cameras, the other 3 have a bright white spot in the center making the view unclear. Can I upgrade to this model keeping my already installed cables? Is the IR better on this model?
Asked by: Donna
Most likely the entire system is an improvement over what you have installed, if that system is more than two to three years old. You should be able to use your existing cable runs withthis new system. Note: 90' of Night Vision in Total Darkness
