Poised to be the new workhorse zoom, the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM is a versatile wide-angle to portrait-length lens characterized by its bright, advanced, and intuitive design. The constant f/2.8 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also enables greater control over depth of field. The optical design incorporates a series of aspherical and Ultra-Low Dispersion elements, which greatly reduce a variety of aberrations throughout the zoom range in order to produce sharp and clear imagery. An Air Sphere Coating has also been applied to suppress flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions.
Balancing the distinguished optical assets is the Nano USM focus system, which delivers fast, nearly silent autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override. An Image Stabilizer also compensates for up to five stops of camera shake to help produce sharper handheld shots in difficult lighting conditions. A unique Control Ring is also integrated into the lens design for intuitive control over exposure settings from the lens itself. Additionally, this 24-70mm is weather-sealed and has a fluorine coating to protect the front and rear elements.

Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS Reviews
Its a must for a serious shooter
However, I disagree a bit with the crowd. I find the RF 24-105 F/4.0 almost indistinguishable and love the extra range. But this IS a smidge better and the speed sold me on throwing it in the bag. On the other hand, I have no need for the speed at my wide angle tele and so the RF 14035 F/ 4.0 suits my needs perfectly, And when I had an issue with Canon lenses, B&H quickly made it all good. So really a winning combination.
Must have in your arsenal
It’s all been said in the reviews. Canon makes quality glass which is why you invest in its products. Although expensive, it will last you a lifetime of terrific photos.
Worth every penny
As a full frame hobbyist I always doubted I needed f/2.8 versus f/4. My previous purchase of the 70-200 disavowed me of this notion and this purchase of the 24-70 just reinforced it. If you’ve gone full frame, you gotta do the f/2.8 trinity and this lens is the workhorse of the trinity. Buy it now, thank me later.
Super fast focus !
Pairs nicely with the Canon R5C. Easy to handle and very quick adjustments.
Brilliant lens
I took a leap of faith buying this lens after I got a multimedia production job recently, and it has lived up to and exceeded my expectations.
Canon RF 24-70mm f2.8 L IS USM
This lens is Amazing !! It is incredibly sharp and responsive and the image quality is outstanding !! Its a little pricey because its bew to the game but the Mark II version of the EF lens still holds enough value to make the trade-in worth it and put it towards this lens
The gold standard
This has been on my short list for way too long now lol. I finally got it and it exceeded all expectations. This goes perfect with R5, and I couldn’t be more happy to own this one.
Beautiful Glass!
Beautiful lens!! My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!
