Telephoto zoom 70-350mm lens is designed for APS-C-format Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 105-525mm equivalent focal length range.
One aspherical element helps to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to accurately render scenes with a high degree of sharpness.
Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy.
An XD Linear Motor system provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance and also contributes to more natural, intuitive manual focus control. An AF/MF switch is located on the lens barrel for tactile control over this setting.
Customizable focus hold buttons are present on the lens barrel for intuitive tactile control and rapid access to select settings. Also, a zoom lock keeps the lens length fixed when not in use.
Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds.
Seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.

Will this lens work on my A7
Asked by: Rommel
Note that someone here answered "Yes", but a better answer would be "No, not as most people would intend" because the lens' image will not cover the full sensor and you will get severe vignetting. The mid-frame image will certainly be usable, but don't expect it to work like a normal lens.

How is this lens working with handheld video ...

How is this lens working with handheld video (using Sony A7iii) in general and extreme situations, f. e. following a surfer up close (350mm)?
Asked by: christiane
While the Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS Lens may be used on a Sony Alpha a7 III Mirrorless Digital Camera, do note that the above lens is designed for use on cameras that use the smaller APS-C sensor, while the Sony Alpha a7 III Mirrorless Digital Camera uses the full-frame sensor. While you may use the lens for video, do note that you would have to go into the menu and go to MENU → (Camera Settings1) → [APS-C/Super 35mm] → desired setting. Do note when APS-C/Super 35 mm shooting is activated, the central part of the image sensor is used and the angle of view is equivalent to that of an APS-C-size image sensor. As long as you are aware you will be viewing a cropped view of your image, the Sony E 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS Lens for video would have good performance.

If I were to mount this to the A7C and not let it go into crop sensor mode, what would the focal length be?
Asked by: Robert
Lenses designed for APS sensors make an image circle that is smaller than that of a full frame lens. If you can over-ride the crop sensor mode, you'll get a circular image inside of a black rectangle. The full frame equivalent focal length is 105-525.
