sE Electronics V7 MC2 Overview

Bring the powerful sound and performance of the sE Electronics' V7 series to Sennheiser wireless transmitters with the black V7 MC2 Microphone Capsule. This supercardioid dynamic capsule comes straight from the V7 mic and offers the same feedback rejection, natural vocal response, and rumble-free internal shockmount as the original.

The internal windscreen not only helps to reduce wind from human breath and external conditions, it also helps to provide a stylish sE Electronics look to your Sennheiser wireless transmitter. It is also exchangeable if a different look is desired. With gold-plated concentric ring contacts on the MC2 capsule, you are assured of corrosion-free performance and optimal signal integrity for years of operation. The V7 MC2 capsule includes a spare black internal windscreen and an sE Electronics logo sticker.

All-Metal Beveled Spring Steel Grille

This is a great replacement for the sennheiser 935 capsule. It has a smoother high mid response. Even bottom end, clear but not brittle high end. Great product. I will be buying more.

Better than wired V7, but..

The SE V7 is in my opinion one of the best sounding live vocal mics for any amount of money. That being said, I've had to stop using them for most of my gigs because a lot of the singers I encounter sing too far away from the mic or sing too quietly or move around too much. As you move away from the capsule the output drops off quicker than a 58 (quicker than other supercardioid mics like the new SR117 as well), and in the real world the V7 seems to behave more like an omni mic rather than a supercardioid in several frequency ranges. There's only about an inch of working distance with this mic. As much as I hate the sound of the 58 it's more forgiving to poor mic technique. So if you're buying this capsule for people who hold the mic like an ice cream cone a foot away from their mouths delivering toasts at wedding receptions, this might not be the capsule for you. When used properly though it easily sounds better than a DPA 2028 so it really is a great deal. The MC2 (or my EW-D body) seems to have a high pass filter built in, so it sounds better than the wired version out of the box. Also the handling noise is better in general than the wired version, maybe because there's no hollow tube right behind the shockmount.
