Ilford Mono Silk Warmtone Reviews

For Black and White

Excellent shadow gradation, highlight control, deep satisfying blacks, a visible warm tone. I feel like I'm talking about old darkroom papers here, because using this paper is like relying on a darkroom paper for consistently great results for black and white images. My only complaints are that it's a little thin (then again, slides easy through the printer); and that the finish is a little odd--semi matt but without any tooth or texture. Love this paper for all my B&W work, especially if you need to control contrast.

I love the deep black tine and luminous highlights this paper produces. It is one of my favorite Ilford inkjet printing papers.

How would this paper compare to the Gold Mono Silk paper that Ilford discontinued. I love what this paper does with warm undertones to my B&W photos. I shoot nothing but B&W and many can use the simple light warm tone of Gold Mono Silk. Would you recommend this paper to replace Gold Mono Silk?
Asked by: Barbara
The coating layer has been improved in newer iterations.
