The GT1080HDR features one VGA and two HDMI inputs, one of which supports HDR10 and 4K UHD content and is MHL-compatible for sharing media from your compatible smart device. A USB port provides power for compatible HDMI streaming media players. An IR remote is included as an added convenience.

DLP Technology

Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology is designed to provide digital projection with higher contrast, faster response time, good pixel structure, and virtually no color degradation.

HDR10 Compatibility

High dynamic range (HDR) technology helps deliver brighter whites and deeper black levels with compatible source media and devices. The GT1080HDR accepts HDR10 signals with four selectable picture modes: Normal, Bright, Detail, and Film.

Rec.709 & sRGB Compliance

The GT1080HDR can reproduce the Rec.709 color gamut, the international HDTV standard of cinematic color reproduction. It is also designed to create saturated colors for use in gaming and animated movies.

Direct Power On

This feature lets you turn the projector on directly from the power source, aiding installations that rely on power-on timers. The sleep timer can be used to turn the projector off after a set time.

MHL Connectivity

Turn the GT1080HDR into a smart display by connecting your compatible smartphone or tablet with a single MHL-compliant cable. This enables you to view presentations, documents, videos, and photos from your device on the big screen.

Integrated Speaker

The built-in speaker helps mitigate the need for an external speaker system.

Designed for a Long Lamp Life

Reduce the number of lamp changes with a lamp that can last up to 15,000 hours in Dynamic mode.

RS-232 Control

Control the projector using HEX or ASCII commands via your RS-232 cable.

USB Power

Power and charge your compatible USB devices with the USB power port. It delivers up to 1A, making it well suited for some HDMI streaming media devices.

Signal Power On

The projector can power on when it receives a signal through the HDMI input, ensuring the projector is turned on at the same time as the source device.

Enhanced Gaming Mode

This video mode optimizes the projector for response times as quick as 8.4 ms at 1080p, 120 Hz, or 16 ms at 1080p, 60 Hz.

4K UHD Compatibility

The GT1080HDR can accept 4K UHD input sources for enhanced detail and clarity.

Dynamic Black Technology

Dynamic Black helps provide more depth to your image by smoothly adjusting the lamp output to enhance the contrast ratio. Bright scenes appear crisp and clear, while dark scenes remain detailed with deep blacks and augmented light and shade detail.

Additional Features

  • One MHL-compatible HDMI 2.0 port (4K, HDR), one HDMI 1.4a port
  • 32 ms input lag time
  • RoHS compliant
  • Up to 120 Hz refresh rate for virtually blur-free visuals

Bought this projector for by my pool and it's excellent. I needed something to throw a big picture while being close to the screen and this fits the bill. Super easy to setup and works great.

Lens Cap Not Available

Seems like a good projector but does not come with the lens cap and is not available from B and H or the Manufacturer. Optoma told me on the phone the optional lens cap wont ever be available. The lens is difficult to protect because it is shaped outwards. I wish it had a USB-C connection

Optoma does it again

This is another top quality short throw projector. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is the lens comes out far and no lenses cover was provided. The model before had a cover attached and it would have been good for this too.

Good product

Site said this product wasn't in stock but I got on the waiting list. About 10 days later it was delivered overnight to my house. Good on BH. The projector itself is great. I ended up making a 10'x7'pvc screen frame using a replacement screen for an inflatable outdoor projection screen. Even at that size the movies look crisp and amazing. Very happy I got this projector.

Great purchase

I just received and so far is great. It has a digital zoom but the adjustment it is very limited I would like a optical zoom with a manual adjustment (faster and easier)

Great except it isn't

1 yr factory warranty has ended. Projector for $800.00, and the primary HDMI out has failed before the bulb. The secondary HDMI is horrible for display output, no upscaling. I will never purchase Optima product again. You would not expect to have a hardware failure before a bulb, just poor quality.

Very quiet, very short throw

By Benoit

Pros: Very quiet in eco mode. I also built a hush box with a muffler lined with duct board, so the result is basically almost silent at 10db. Very short throw allowed my a larger screen size, at 106 diagonal from less than 4 feet. The short throw also means more usable brightness. cons: the very short throw makes a very flat screen important, so I had to get a tab-tensioned screen, because I need it to be retractable. For a flat treated wall or permanent mount, it would not be an issue.

Would this work well outdoors (dark) on a 14ft diagonal inflatable screen?
Asked by: Patrick
The Optoma Technology GT1080HDR Full HD Short-Throw DLP Projector BH #OPGT1080HDR would completely fill a14'/168" diagonaly measured screen from a distance of about 6' 1". The image might actually be too bright in maximum brightness mode though. Best to try it out in Eco mode at this short distance.

How far I can placed the projector, If I put 19' will it be image quality compromise since its short-throw projector (for my 180" setup?)
Asked by: Raza
This is a short throw projector and is designed to allow you to place the projector close to the screen and still have a large image. In your scenario for a 180" diagonal screen the projector should be 6', 6" from the screen. As an alternative, you may consider the Optoma Technology HD39HDR Full HD DLP Home Theater Projector BH #OPHD39HDR • MFR #HD39HDR. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1506442-REG/optoma_technology_hd39hdr_bright_1080_hdr.html. The HD39HDR has an adjustable lens that will give you the 180" image size at 19'. The image will look great as long as you can control the lighting in the room and there is no direct light on the screen itself.

Can you hook three of these projectors to one computer but project different things?
Asked by: Christine
There are two hdmi inputs and one vga into so you could wire up three PCs but you'd have to select the different inputs. I don't think you can screen split the inputs if that was your thought.
