Intel i9-10920X Overview

This processor also supports DDR4-2933 memory.

Intel did not design this processor with an integrated graphics chipset, meaning that users will need to purchase a compatible and dedicated graphics card of their choice. If you need even more performance, this processor is unlocked, which lets you overclock the processor over its maximum speed. However, this is not recommended, as it will void the limited 3-year warranty.

Please note that a CPU cooler is not included and must be purchased separately.

Worth the Price

The CPU game is a rigged game, where there is always a range between the latest/greatest CPU at a huge premium on one end, and the standard/commodity CPU at consumer pricing on the other. This CPU is at the higher end at the moment (it will come down in price as the new models are added), just below the level of diminishing returns in pricing, but at the top of the performance level. Paired with a lot of memory (which is cheap these days) it does wonders for Photoshop.

Great CPU/Price OK.

So far the CPU. Is running great I OCd to 1.23 v. On the CPU AND RUNNING STABLE AT A COOL 38-42°C I'm clearly getting double the performance upgrading from a i7 7820x

I was looking for a 3.5 base clock. this fits the bill. 12 cores 3.5Ghz and its working great for Pro Tools Ultimate with a heavy session, lots of virtual instruments tracks and a ton of DSP hungry plug ins. It is also working great in Adobe premier encoding videos. For the price and performance, this is the best deal if you need a powerhouse workstation for audio & video.

Hello, I am from Mexico and for a few months I was looking for this processor in stores in my country as well as online stores and I could not get it until I saw that B&H had it although at first it was not available so I had to wait, really the price was a little expensive due to the increase in the dollar and therefore with doubts to buy it because it was the first time that I bought a product from this store from my country, and because despite the time, the extra cost for import costs did not I regret it, it was a good purchase and I thank B&H for the service and the speed with which they send me the product, I will buy from you again is a fact. Greetings.

So far, so good!

Are Intel CPU's more expensive than AMD? Yes. Should you buy AMD instead? Not necessarily. AMD CPU's sometimes have stability problems. Furthermore, if you use software optimized for Intel, AMD CPU's won't be much of an advantage. I use my build as a video editing PC for Premiere and Davinci Resolve. I haven't yet used Davinci since I built this computer, but w/ Premiere the CPU performs quite well. It's very fast and stays cool w/ my Noctua air cooler. So, if you want a high-performing CPU w/ lots of cores and threads, this is a good chip. But certainly you should do research on the different CPU's on the market, as AMD has released pure beasts when it comes to lots of cores. Still, I don't regret buying this Intel CPU. It performs as expected.

Solid product for gaming and production

I'll start by saying I have over the years gone back and forth between AMD and Intel with whoever has the best CPU at the time for my gaming habits. This later also expanded into some stuff like video editing and streaming from time to time. Though I still use my system for gaming 95% of the time. That said I also love to build PC's and typically enjoy the higher end enthusiast builds. Because of this I have over the past 10 years been using Intel's HEDT motherboards like X79, X99 and now X299 chipsets. Currently running an X299 Asus Rampage VI Apex board I had originally purchased with an i9-7900X. Based on this I felt an easy and now cheaper upgrade to the i9-10920X CPU would be the best route. Yes there are better AMD CPU's out there right now, but Intel still does very well in the gaming performance. So since this was just a CPU swap out for me it was the best way to go I could keep everything else in my system as is. This motherboard has been rock solid and only 2 years old at this moment. I was not disappointed, this CPU works great out of the box. Has very good turbo features for those that don't know how to overclock. It will consistently run 2 cores at 4.8Ghz, 2 at 4.7Ghz, 2 or 3 at 4.6, and the rest at 4.5 down to 4.4. Using Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 software you can force older games that use typically 1 main core to use your strongest cores first for the extra speed. If the program/game has great multicore support then you have the 12 cores which really is plenty for gaming and enough for a good balance of production unless you crunch videos all day. OC wise I have only messed with it some so far but it's not hard to get this CPU to 5.0Ghz on all cores with what I am using, a Corsair H115i Pro AIO water cooler.

PCI Upgrade

I bought the i9-10920X as a replacement for my i7-7820X because I was in need of more PCI express lanes. Overall, it feels more responsive and the extra 4 cores are nice to have. However, if I was building a brand new machine, I would probably wait for Intel's next gen to come out.

Nazeer, The Intel Core i9-10920X Processor is a very good choice for virtual and sim environments. Please insure that you do have an optimal cooling system installed as well as the correct 2066-socket motherboard. If you plan on mastering multivendor type environments and for about $50 more, you can purchase the Intel Core i9-10940X (14-Cores). You can check out the specs at https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1507538-REG/intel_bx8069510940x_core_i9_10940x_3_5_ghz.html. Thank you for choosing Intel

Hello, Is this processor part of ne GEN10 family?

Hello, Is this processor part of ne GEN10 family?
Asked by: Lawrence
It is a 10th gen HEDT processor, not compatible with mainstream desktop 10th gen processors, which are on the LGA1200 socket instead. The platform this processor is on offers more PCIe lanes, and memory bandwidth than mainstream desktop platforms, but not as much single core performance. (Still acceptable for many applications.) Also the motherboards compatible with this are often more expensive.
