Intel i9-10920X Overview

Compatible with their X299 chipset-based motherboards, the Core i9-10920X 3.5 GHz 12-Core LGA 2066 Processor from Intel has a base clock speed of 3.5 GHz and comes with features such as Intel Optane Memory and SSD support, Intel Device Protection with Boot Guard, Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d), Intel Trusted Execution Technology (TXT), and AES-NI. Having 12 cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the 24 threads allow a basic ordered sequence of instructions to be passed through or processed by a single CPU core. This processor also supports DDR4-2933 memory.

Intel did not design this processor with an integrated graphics chipset, meaning that users will need to purchase a compatible and dedicated graphics card of their choice. If you need even more performance, this processor is unlocked, which lets you overclock the processor over its maximum speed. However, this is not recommended, as it will void the limited 3-year warranty.

Please note that a CPU cooler is not included and must be purchased separately.

Nazeer, The Intel Core i9-10920X Processor is a very good choice for virtual and sim environments. Please insure that you do have an optimal cooling system installed as well as the correct 2066-socket motherboard. If you plan on mastering multivendor type environments and for about $50 more, you can purchase the Intel Core i9-10940X (14-Cores). You can check out the specs at https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1507538-REG/intel_bx8069510940x_core_i9_10940x_3_5_ghz.html. Thank you for choosing Intel

Hello, Is this processor part of ne GEN10 family?
Asked by: Lawrence
It is a 10th gen HEDT processor, not compatible with mainstream desktop 10th gen processors, which are on the LGA1200 socket instead. The platform this processor is on offers more PCIe lanes, and memory bandwidth than mainstream desktop platforms, but not as much single core performance. (Still acceptable for many applications.) Also the motherboards compatible with this are often more expensive.
