Ideal for vlogging, selfies, makeup and cosmetic shots, hair styling, portraits, and more, the Bi-Color LED Ring Light Kit from Westcott has an 18" diameter plus color, light intensity, and power options.

The ring light has color that's variable from 3200 to 5600K to match any lighting environment, and has a CRI/TLCI rating of 97 indicating a high degree of color accuracy - an important asset for flattering skin tones. Light intensity is variable from 0 to 100% and the ring form factor creates signature catchlights in your subject's eyes.

With the inclusion of swivel and mobile device mounts and a flexible gooseneck, Westcott has assembled everything you'll need to pair the ring light with your DSLR or smartphone. The kit has power options as well, including a multi-voltage AC adapter, two NP-F750 batteries, and a charger for shooting on location without access to an outlet. Also included are a compact 6.5' light stand and a carry case for storage and transport.

AC/DC Power Options for Use Anywhere
The light can be powered with the AC power adapter when you're in the studio or at home. When on location or far from an outlet, you can utilize the two NP-F750 lithium-ion batteries to power the ring light for up to 70 minutes at full power.

This ring light is fully dimmable with an adjustable color temperature ranging from 3200 to 5600K in of 25K increments. With a high CRI/TLCI of up to 97, light output is color accurate for skin tones. The ring light's display screen allows power and color temperature adjustments quickly with just a single dial.

This surprisingly versatile ring light is quick to set up and easy to use. The soft diffused light works well for medium to close up shots when you don't have the time or energy to set up proper three point lighting. It's a good value for the price.

So very frustrated with B&H. Purchased on 2/16 and on March 3, I still do not have the product. They do not accept responsibility. I have been a regular customer and they do not appear to be terribly concerned.

Same quality issues as cheaper ring lights

I thought by paying more for a known brand, I'd avoid the problems others had with low quality electronics inside cheaper ring lights. Unfortunately, I ran into the same issues, specifically flickering and the light randomly turning itself on/off. This occurred within an hour of unboxing the unit. Later, as I was packing it up for return, I removed the batteries and noticed something inside the housing of the light had melted, leaving a burn mark on the plastic.

Light worked well for 26 months

I have been using this light nearly daily in my home office. Being on video conferences throughout the day, the light provided the soft light that I was looking for. The stand is not sturdy enough to be trusted, so I ended up placing the light & stand in a corner of the wall for added support. I have used the light as a fill light for outdoor photography and ran it on the provided batteries. It worked fine for the shoot, but I did have to have someone hole the light & stand the entire time as the stand isn't very good. It was a good run, but I was hoping it would have lasted a bit longer. After 26 months of regular use, the control/power panel has been malfunctioning. It started with the power switch one day in which the light would not turn on at all. After about 15 minutes, I got the light to come on and left the power switch turned on. I changed to just unplugging the power cable into the light power panel to turn it on. That worked fine for about a week. Now the light will randomly flicker and some times turn itself off. I have not found a way to get repair parts from the manufacturer and the warranty is limited to 1 year. The manufacturer website indicated you can send items back for repair but you would need to call customer service first and then pay to ship it back.

Good light, poor holder

The light is really bright and works well for its intended purpose. The phone holder barely opens wide enough to hold the phone in its case. The articulated arm is week and not very adjustable.

There are multiple ways you can attach the included phone mount. You can attach the phone mount to either the gooseneck or the ball mount, then the gooseneck or ball mount will attach to the light. When using the gooseneck, you can attach the phone mount at the bottom or the back. If you attach the phone mount at the bottom, your phone will be orientated in landscape. If you attach the phone mount at the back, you can orient your phone in either portrait or landscape. The problem I found when attaching the gooseneck to the back of the phone, is that the gooseneck does not bend a full 90 degrees, so it's unusable that way. When using the ball mount, your only option is to attach the phone mount at the bottom, so only landscape. I ended up buying a different phone mount, that attaches at the bottom to the ball mount, and this phone mount allows me to rotate for either portrait or landscape orientation.

How long does it take to charge a battery? Can you charge through the lamp or from the plug adapter?

The, Westcott Bi-Color LED Ring Light Kit (18") comes with two batteries and a charger. The batteries need to be charged via that charger and not through the light. The battery can take an average of 1-2 hours to charge. And it comes with one charger.
