FLM CP30-L4 II Reviews
Great Quality but Super Tall
I got this to replace my MeFoto Globetrekker. I needed something more sturdier and better for my height. I'm 5'6, so O figured 5'8 was a good height and better than 54" (4'6""). It's soooooo tall. I actually got our a tape measure to confirm its height, and it is accurate. I didn't figure in three factors: a) ball head added 3", b) camera adds 3", and c) my eyes are 3 inches lower than the top my head. All of this is to say that this is really for people at least 6' tall. I used it, can't return it, but I'll be selling it and getting the shorter model..
Nice and Light!
I've not used this in the field yet, but have tested it out in my living room. I found it easy to change position and I love how light it is given the heavy aluminum tripod I was dragging around. If I find I like this any less after some real world use, I'll update my review.
FLM CP30-L4 tripod review
I purchased this tripod for landscape photography in situations close to the vehicle. I am also using the CP26 travel tripod. The CP30 exceeded my expectations. I love the extended height for star shots and the FLM is rock steady. Matches my Marlins Qi20 ball head perfect. After much research I believe FLM makes the best tripod for the money. I would definitely buy again.
Good Quality and Value
I've been using an old Gitzo 410 for the past 30 years, which is built like a tank and has outlasted my shoulders. This is my first carbon fiber tripod, purchased for small lens (studio or landscape) use, so it's stunning to me how compact and light it is for such a sturdy platform. Purchased this model because it reaches my eye level (6'2) without a center column, and seems to be close to the quality of a Gitzo or RRS at a significantly lower price. My only concern is the light weight could be a problem in windy conditions, and to that point, I wish the tiny eyelet under the base was either a hook, or big enough for a carabiner clip to hang my bag or backpack on for added weight and stability. Locks and leg ratchets seem well made and smooth and it comes with replaceable spiked feet. My only big disappointment was that it went on sale a week after I got it.

Best Tripod I have ever owned.
This tripod is tall, so no more sore back bending over to camera. It is big and tall but not too heavy. It is smooth and very sturdy. High quality and very well built.
Great Tripod
I originally ordered the S4 version and used it with my Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 ball head. Although very light it was to short for me (I'm 6'4). After a trip to Zion NP with it I purchased the L4 and wish I would have ordered it in the first place. It has plenty of height, and is still pretty light. I use it with my Chamonix 45F-2 and 5DSR and have had no issues. Only thing I wish it came with was longer spikes, and rubber twisting locks. When it's cold outside the metal twist locks are not great on the hands.
Great reach, great value
light weight, great height. I love this one.
