4TB Ultrastar 7200 rpm SATA 3.5" Internal Data Center HDD Kit (Retail, 4-Pack) Reviews
great when they work
B&H customer service was spot on replacing the DOA (1 of 2) unit. Performance in an AMD/Asus-MB based RAID1 scenario has been good so far.
Excellent
Drives are well packed in these retail boxes, this gives me confidence to have them posted and arrive in good condition. Super fast postage too, so I'm very happy.
Great quiet 7200rpm HDD
These are much quieter then the WD Black HDD.
Excellent Price/Service
Price was the lowest around. Product came sooner than I expected in very good shape.
Great drive
I've had good luck with both Deskstar and Ultrastar drives over the last 8 years, in fact they all still function, so that was my natural choice, these are used in a NAS that runs 24/7. Some people have said they are noisy, while they might be a little noisier than IronWolf or EXOS drives, the difference is very minimal and not an issue unless the drive sits right next to you all day long.
Perfect
Got 6 of these drives to upgrade in my NAS replacing old 4TB drives. They came well packaged and I ran badblocks on all of them which took ~6 days to complete all 4 passes and comparisons. All of them passed with no errors and have been up and running for a 3-4 weeks 2/7 with no issue.
This is originally Hitachi brand
This is originally Hitachi brand. I was expecting Western Digital hard drives.
Failed after 5 months
After 5 months of use on a UPS, drive unmounted unexpectedly and would not remount Changed enclosures, ports with no success.
