I keep this lens consistently mounted to my Sony a6400. I personally feel that it takes sharp images and it fits my personal needs very well. I use it to take landscape and portrait photos of people.

Good Quality Lens

The picture quality from this lens is very crisp and clear. I have the canon 22mm lens also and although there is not much of a difference between them both in terms of quality (Personal opinion), I am very pleased with it. Lens feels more solid than the cannon and heavier also.

A lovely alternative for the L system

It is kind of a big lens for the Leica TL2, but it is not heavy and balances quite well in the cameras body. The autofocus hunts a little, but after a couple of attempts get the job done. Optically, delivers beyond the price tag. There is some chromatic aberration, some distortion and some softness at f1.4, but in general you can use this little gem without any worry. I believe the 30mm f1.4 has a little more bang. But this is more dramatic and versatile. i love it.

Effective for the price

Photography is a hobby for me and because of that, I personally can't justify premium quality lenses and prices. However, I still want quality photos. This 16mm sigma lens met that challenge and produces good results for the price. It is much larger and heavier than other wide angle lenses, but I haven't found that to be a hinderance. I still travel with it and can carry it around easily enough. It's just an adjustment coming from the Sony 16mm pancake lens. For the reason of size and weight I did take 1 star off the review. Bottom line: I'm happy with the sharpness and fast aperture. It's a great upgrade from the kit lens that came with my Sony a6300. I will be using this lens a lot. It has proven effective at night and in slot canyons of Utah in low light conditions.

Fast aperture, quick autofocus, inexpensive

I bought this lens by mistake thinking it was a full frame lens. I own the Sony 20mm f/1.8 and I tried to use it inside my car with my Sony A7IV and it was just not quite wide enough. So, I found this lens and I thought 16mm would be perfectly wide to shoot inside my car. However, when I received it, I noticed it is an APS-C lens (my bad) and my first thought was to return it. But, I decided to at least try it to see how bad the vignetting was going to be. First, I need to change a setting on my A7IV called 'APS-C S35 Shooting' from Auto to Off. Then, the camera will disable the auto cropping it automatically applies to APS-C lenses. And I tried it and the vignetting is not that bad and it works for my particular situation. There's vignetting only on the corners and the darkness blends well with my frame (inside my car). Check the still frame I am attaching, so you can see what I mean. Then, the lens is super sharp, and the auto focus works essentially like a native Sony lens on a Sony body. Consequently, I am keeping the Sigma 16mm to make these videos inside my car. And the price is quite inexpensive for such a wonderful lens. I highly recommend you to buy it or at least try it. You can always return it if it doesn't work for your particular situation. Cheers!

If you're thinking about it, do it. No complaints, this is a solid lens (literally, it's pretty hefty). Quick AF, great low light performance, great addition to your Fuji system. I'm using it on the X-S10. Not necessarily a great portrait option as you will get some edge distortion, but great for documentation and video projects. If I could change anything, I wish it was a bit more compact. This is physically the largest of the three Sigma prime contemporary lenses.

The Canon EOS R is dual mode where the camera can be set to crop mode (APS-C), one should still get 16mm via the EOS R adapters no? (looks like some people don't know the EOS R can go crop-mode and are giving wrong answers).
Asked by: David
I don't think that there is an adapter that allows an M-mount lens to be mounted on an R-mount camera. The sensor-to-flange distance for the two mounts are too similar to fabricate one. Other than that, it should work. The lens communicates with the body like an EF lens and has the coverage for an APS-C sensor.

Will this lens work with the Canon 60D?
Asked by: Karen
This will not work on a Canon 60D. This is an EF-M lens, it's for a mirrorless system. Lenses that are compatible with your 60D have the EF or EF-S moniker. Anything other than those two like EF-M, or RF are not compatible.

I'm trying to figure out how this lens varies from the Canon EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM Lens. Are these competing lenses, and would it only make sense to buy one or the other?
Asked by: Joshua
These are not competing lenses, the 16mm is a much wider angle lens than the 32mm. The 16mm would be good for street scenes, landscapes, general photography. The 32mm is good for general shooting as well but not nearly as wide, for photographing 1 or 2 people or interviews, etc...

Is there any adaptor for that lens to fit on canon 750d?
Asked by: Fikri
Unfortunately there is no adapter to mount an EF-M lens on an EF camera. You could consider the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 zoom instead: https://bhpho.to/33VDyNs It would be nearly as wide and at f1.8 it works well in low light.
