The Zhiyun-Tech WEEBILL-S incorporates the underslung mode design of its predecessor, the WEEBILL LAB, and also has a more compact form as well as other new features. The sling mode design consists of a handle on the rear that allows for easy switching to underslung mode as well as better handling in all other modes. Other improvements include upgraded motors and stabilization algorithm. The WEEBILL-S features 300% more motor torque and 50% more responsiveness. This allows you to better balance camera/lens combos such as the Canon 5D Mark IV with a 24-70mm zoom lens.
Being released along with the WEEBILL-S as an optional accessory is the TransMount Image Transmission Module, a compact device designed to neatly mount under the quick release plate of the WEEBILL-S and allow wireless streaming of up to 1080p30 resolution over distances up to 328'. Up to three devices, including phones, tablets, and select professional monitors, can be synced up using corresponding receiver modules.
The companion Zhiyun-Tech ZY Play app, compatible with iOS and Android, has been upgraded to work with the Image Transmission Module to allow more efficient control of the gimbal. A feature in the app called SmartFollow 2.0 works with the module to allow precision object tracking directly from the app. A tool called Sync Motion enables real-time monitoring and synchronous motion control. There are also upgrades to standard features, including ViaTouch 2.0, which allows you to control various functions and settings of your camera and gimbal directly from your smartphone screen. These include zoom and focus, where supported, as well as follow speed, ISO, aperture, and more. Other features you'll find in the ZY Play app include creative capture tools such as Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse, and Long Exposure Timelapse, among others.
The WEEBILL-S offers six modes of operation. These include Full-Range POV Mode, which allows 360° synchronous movement on all three axes, and Vortex Mode, which lets you achieve 360° barrel shots. Please see the Features section below for a description of all six modes. Other features of the gimbal include Intelligent Auto-Tune, which automatically recognizes the weight of your camera and adapts to the weight to provide the best power efficiency possible. The battery operating time of the WEEBILL-S has also been increased to up to 14 hours.
The WEEBILL-S allows electronic focus control with supporting cameras. This is done using the integrated handwheel. The gimbal also supports mechanical focus and zoom control using optional motors. The WEEBILL-S supports the TransMount motors as well as all the other TransMount accessories that the predecessor model was compatible with. Among these is the Quick Setup Adapter Set that has become very popular since its release.
The WEEBILL-S comes with multiple accessories, including an Arca Swiss/Manfrotto dual-layer quick release plate and a storage case. Also included is a mini tripod that can be used as a stand or an extension handle. The mini tripod is also what completes the gimbal for underslung, low-mode operation. It attaches to the rear handle to function as an overhead handle.

Zhiyun WEEBILL-S Reviews
not the most intuitive
I don't find this to be very user friendly. Menu system and button placement seem haphazard.
Very pleased as first time gimbal owner
Just purchased this a few weeks ago and had the chance to use it for several projects now. Overall very pleased with the gimbal. I use a Canon EOS R with 35mm, 24mm, and 50mm lens. Pros: Fairly simple to learn. After a quick read through the manual and using the gimbal for a few hours, I was confident I would be able to use it for shoots with no issue. I had never used a gimbal before purchasing this, so I was very relieved with how easy to use it was. For simple moving shots or running alongside an actor it makes shots look significantly more stable. Battery life was longer than my camera battery, didn't have any workflow issues as far as power goes. Cons: A bit slow on panning with heavier lenses. Takes a bit of practice to guide it in time with a moving subject. No option for vertical camera mode, not a huge deal but if you're doing vertical content this may not be the best choice. Overall very pleased with the weebill S and look forward to using it more!
Gimbal to the rescue
After finally getting the Blackmagic pocket 4k on it and working the videos have taken a step up in quality, I have 2 cameras and one never leaves the gimbal to avoid the calibration hassle.
Avoid
Gimbal was ok from the start. Not sure if I got a lemon. But, even after balancing and auto tuning it, it would get shaky and hard to get a steady shot with it. After 6 months, with not a lot of use, it became useless. Manufacturer customer service is non exist. Now, after this experience and money loss, I'm looking to purchase a replacement gimbal. Go DJI. I should have.
Lightweight & reliable
I've used this little gimbal pretty regularly for a few years now. The battery life can last a full-day shoot and the motors are robust enough to keep my a7iii or a7c nice and stable with any of my lenses. This said I don't have heavy camera bodies or extra large lenses. This gimbal definitely lends itself to functioning best with lighter configurations
Disappointed
I have the transmitter. It connects to the app when it wants to. So far it's unreliable and will not connect to my Sony a7rii. Should probably in an actual monitor. Hopefully at some point CS will return my call. Money wasted at this point.
DJI RS3 Mini killed this 4 year old gimbal
The Weebill-s *was* the smallest gimbal that could fly a heavy set full-frame camera like the Sony A7 or FX3 with GM lenses, so I was willing to trade the convenience of a smaller form factor, for the cheaper build quality compared to DJI. But now that DJI's RS3 Mini is out, you should just go with that. It's superior in every way to the Weebill-s.
Good product
Well designed, looks great, and does the job well.
