Can I use my DX lenses (for D7500) with the mirorless Z50?
Asked by: Yair
You can use most F mount lenses like you mentioned as long as you buy the FTZ adapter which is a F mount to Z mount conversion adapter. The old D type F mount lenses will be manual focus only, but the newer G type F mount lenses from Nikon will have auto focus with the FTZ adapter. Mostly it's the 'AF-S' you need to look for in the lens name. Per Nikon: "Full AF/AE supported when using FX or DX AF-S Type G/D/E, AF-P type G/E, AF-I type D" Be careful though, some of the older lenses that work on the D7500 for AF won't have AF on the Z50 because there is no AF motor inside the FTZ adapter.

I'm interested in purchasing this camera to shot timelapses coupled with Syrp's Genie. Does the Z50 have a MC-DC2 shutterport like the Z6 and Z7, which would allow me to connect and control the shutter/interval functions from the Syrp Genie/app?
Asked by: Paris
The Z50 does not have the DC-2 connection. It can be triggered using Bluetooth with the Nikon ML-L7 remote control.

I'm in doubt between the Z50 and the Olympus OMD E-M1 mkII. ¿Which one should be better for birding and wildlife photography?
Asked by: Fernando
The Nikon Z50 would offer more in terms of its points of AF, ISO range and its larger sensor. That being said, it would better for shooting birds and other wildlife.
