Tamron 35mm f/2.8 Di III Reviews
Hits above it's price
Overall this is an excellent lens. It's a very sharp lens. You will read comments regarding it's lightweight build & slowish AF. It is very light, but feels good. The AF is perfectly fine in most cases. It will hunt in very low light but then again so will most lenses. The noise is not nearly as loud as many say. Yes, you can hear it. And that might be an issue for video. But anything else it's fine. Keeping in mind the price, you can't go wrong with this lens.
Sharper than th Sigma 30mm 1.4
I have a decent amount of exp. with the Sigma 30mm 1.4 and no doubt it is a good lens. However. If you don't need the extra low light performance, go for this one instead. At $50 less and with free overnight, you CANNOT say no! This thing is super sharp and even only being at F2.8 it still does decent in low light! While this is a full frame lens it of course works perfectly fine on my A6000. So it's more like.. 52mm iirc? For beginners/amateurs it's hard to say no to for photography
Decent lens for the price.
Bought this lense for only about 200. I'm very happy for how much I paid. Pictures are decently sharp and performs adequate. Not so great in lower light situations but it being 2.8F helps a little. But I noticed my zoom kit lense that came with my a6000 works a bit better In low light. Otherwise happy with the purchase.
Great lens for the price
I wanted an inexpensive prime lens and so far I'm extremely impressed especially given its price point. The lens is sharp and lightweight. The only downside is the slow autofocus mentioned in other reviews. It's not terrible it just wouldn't suit any action shots. The autofocus motor also got a little noisy at times. I shot some video with this lens and while the video wasn't terrible this lens is better suited for photography given the AF issues.
Terrific Lens
Sharp, excellent contrast, lightweight, well-built and works flawlessly with my A7r. My only problem is that I shoot a lot of IR on the A7r and this lens has some hotspots only in infrared. For regular digital photography, this is a high-performing lens at a bargain price. Can't beat this one.
Great optically, small, light, slow on AF
This is a really fun, small lens with very good optical performance, good colours and contrast. At f2.8 and minimum focus, you can really get some nice shots. And it makes a very small, light kit with an a7 camera. I imagine it's 1:2 macro performance is even better on APSC with ~50mm focal length, but I haven't tried that. To keep the lens compact, Tarmron supplies a cool blackout/cut-out lens hood. Top marks for Tarmon on this one.
Senator work with Sony A7iv !!!!!!
B&H should tell you that there is a known issue with all the Tamron primes they don't work with the Sony a7iv. now I have to return it
Amazing image quality, slow focus
This lens is amazing for the price as it punches above its class on image quality giving the user very good contrasty images while also being impressively sharp! The Macro functionality and weather sealing are a definite plus! But it does have its cons. Firstly its struggles to achieve focus in low light, theres quite alot of hunting as well. Sometimes it will lose focus and wont achieve focus again until i point the camera elsewhere and achieve focus again. AF speed is slow even in good light definitely not an action lens.
