Light itself is very good . Very bright light . But the wire which hangs the control box broke on my first attempt to hang it on the stand . It's just snapped , luckily it feel on my feet , else the control box would have broken badly . Idk it's godox or b&h . When I opened the box , the light was not placed it was supposed to be placed in box , it was other side around and loosely packed . Not sure what am I suppose to do with it

This light does everything it promises. Definitely super bright. My own gripe is that the yolk cracked where it meets the light. It's still ok for now, but I'll have to replace it somehow soon.

Compact and Powerful

Short version: very bright with a strong yoke that can hold a parabolic softbox with no sagging. Long version: This light has exceeded my expectations at every turn. First off, it is bright - very bright. I use it almost exclusively with a softbox which cuts output significantly. Even so, I find that I have always had more than enough light, and rarely use it at full power. The body itself is very compact which makes setup a breeze. The yoke is nice and strong, and it has no problem holding my parabolic softboxes in place without sagging. It is also quiet. The fan noise has never interfered with what I am capturing. You'd have to be in an extremely sound controlled environment, and be very close to your microphone for it to be an issue. The cords are nice and long and I haven't had to use an extension cord yet. It is a small detail, but it makes a positive difference in ease of use. I purchased three of these lights and I couldn't be happier with them. If I need any more, I won't hesitate to buy the same ones again.

Massive step up for my lighting!

I tried to go cheap on my lighting initially, and it just wasn't doing the job. I finally pulled the trigger on the Godox, mainly because it was the only thing I could find that was way better than the Neewer lighting I was using, but still under $1,500+ where everything else is priced. OMG. This light is incredible! There's a lot of cable and 2 giant boxes involved in making it work, which increases setup and tear down time, and the case takes up a lot of space, but it's all totally worth it. In the attached picture, the Bodox is on the left, shining on the curtain. My phone made it look darker than it was, but you can see how well it lit the area. This is a well-lit barn, and we shot a video about horse feed. I am absolutely thrilled with how it came out. I've tried shooting in the barn before, but I couldn't get my subject to pop like she did this time. I don't know how a professional lighting expert would feel about this light, but I think it's fantastic. Thanks B&H for the quick shipping, as always!

NOT PRO!

If you have experience working with pro lighting gear (K5600, Cinemills, Arri), you won't be happy with this light. The fishline hook broke within a month, remote doesn't always work, turns off intermittently, V-mount connector cracked. When it does work it can be surprisingly powerful.

Great value for continuous light

I've used several types of continuous lights over the years for video. I love the output on this one, and the Bowen's mount allows me to use my full range of modifiers. I don't like that the power block and controller/battery mount is in two pieces. I do work at various locations, and the simpler it is to set up, the better. Despite that, it's great light output for the money and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Started Smoking

Well, I would have said I love this light but I just tried to use it for only the third time and it popped, and started smoking. I'm not sure if they fan blew up or what? I'm extremely disappointed right now. Will update if situation gets resolved.

Can this be used with AC power or does it only work with battery power?
Asked by: chris
I'd clarify this answer as "it is capable of running on either AC or battery" 1. EITHER Two VLOCK batteries, mounted to the back of the ballast. You can see this in the pictures and on YT video reviews. 2. OR As mentioned, it comes with normal AC adapter power cable.
