The LiteCloth 2.0 Mega-LC Foldable LED Mat Kit from Intellytech is designed for image-makers who require a wall of light with color, light intensity, power, control, setup, breakdown, and travel options. The kit includes the 3 x 4.5' LED mat, a mounting bracket with frame, a diffuser, a grid, a controller with a Gold Mount battery mount, and a sturdy, wheeled carry case.

The dimmable MEGA-LiteCloth has an expansive color range that's variable from 3000 to 10,000K to meet any ambient light challenge, match other fixtures, or for creative expression. Its high CRI/TLCI ratings of 97 and 98 are your assurance of superior accuracy in color rendering. You can make adjustments on the controller, remotely on a DMX console, or wirelessly with a separately-purchased remote control.

The MEGA-LiteCloth comes with a frame to which the LED mat is fastened with grommets. The mat folds down in seconds to 14 x 16 x 0.5" and the frame folds as well, so they both fit in the provided 14 x 41 x 12" wheeled carrying case. The diffuser softens the bright LED's output, and a fabric grid thwarts spill light and adds the directional control needed for selective lighting.

The MEGA-LiteCloth system provides the means for worldwide use via the controller's 110-240 VAC adapter and its Gold Mount battery plate that is a valuable asset when shooting in locations without access to an AC outlet.

Overview
The MEGA-LiteCloth is a 3 x 4.5' LED Mat that folds down to 14 x 16 x 0.5". This unique design allows you to create broad, bright, natural-looking light that can be quickly setup and travels small.
Sold as a Complete Kit
Includes a diffuser, a grid, a mounting bracket, and a controller with attached battery plates that all fits into the 14 x 41 x 12" carrying case.
Expansive Color Range
The MEGA-LiteCloth has an expansive color range of 3000 to 10,000K allowing for greater creative control.
AC or DC Power
Designed to be portable, you can power the MEGA via the included 110 to 240 VAC adapter or via two Gold Mount batteries.
Wireless and DMX Control
The MEGA-LiteCloth can be hooked up to a DMX512 board for studio use. Additionally, all units can be controlled via the optional LC-WR wireless remote. Choose to control a MEGA individually, or by syncing additional lights together for simultaneous control.
Combined AC and Controller
The MEGA-LC has a controller with a built-in AC adapter, allowing for a faster and simpler setup.
Diffusion and Grid Included
The diffusion softens the light quality while the fabric grid controls spill light and offers directional control. Setting up the MEGA is easier compared to previous LiteCloths. Simply slide each corner over the frame and setup is complete. It takes seconds. Everything fits inside the included, rolling carrying case.
Impressive Output
While it draws 300W, the MEGA-LC is equivalent to a 3000W tungsten soft light. Even without using the included diffusion, the MEGA-LC creates a expansive spread that will wrap around your subject.
Quick and Intuitive Frame, No Assembly Required
The included frame uses the same design as Intellytech's Fast Frames. It simply folds and unfolds into place, requiring no assembly. The LED Mat then attaches via grommets to the frame. Like the mat, the mount also folds down, allowing you to pack it easily into the carrying case.

Intellytech MEGA-LiteCloth Reviews

One of the best lights you can have in your grip truck!

I own 4 of these, and could not say enough great things about the kit. I love the bright, wide, and soft spread I get straight out of the box. And I'd you need it softer, use another 6x6 or 8x8. I've used these for high profile interviews and always hear the same pleasant responses from my clients after they see the results. I've originally opted to use these where I had a chance to use arri or kinoflo lighting, and in the end fell in love with the results I got with Litecloth megas, the portability, how light it is, and how fast it sets up. You can power via 2 v-mount batteries and take on the road with you, small power draw has saved me on many locations where I needed the light with all 4 lights. It's so thin and versatile that I've used this in more locations than I thought possible, and used this as SFX lighting in many situations. Also, ability to fold the light is a huge plus!!! It can fit in some obscure locations where not many others can. When it comes to accuracy/tint, etc, every light I've used has some variations that you may need to adjust for in post or gel. I've never had any issues, and since I have 4 of these, they all match so my final is always spot on. I shoot with RED/ARRI/phantom cameras, and match footage all the time between these anyways, so never been an issue. And remember, light is a tool one needs to learn how to use, this one just happens to be my Swiss Army knife of light kits. One note is get the extended cable so that you can setup your power unit away from the action and your gaffer or you can control several units at once. Great time saver so you don't have to try hanging it or having close to your stands if you can avoid it. I've since lit 80% of my studio shoots with these and filmed for NFL, NASA, and agencies from all over. So, if it works for them, I'm sure you'll love the results too!

LIGHT QUALITY VS PRODUCT QUALITY

SO . This light could be amazing. Oh don't get me wrong looks great on paper and price.. then you use it a few times and you hate it. I like the bicolor and intensity of this fixture, love that it's light weight and water resistant. the ballast is a little funky. Should come with a stand mount like the Aputure brand. We thought oh a fast key or fill light that can fit in any space .. very bright and controllable but the accessories don't match the product. The LCD cloth doesn't fit around the frame only ties to the corners so the middle always is a pain. The frame is soooo cheaply made too and has one pin to attach to a stand in the middle of the folding frame and it never NEVER stays where you want it. So you have to add a second point of contact or an A Clamp. Not a huge deal but you would think they would have thought of more mounting points. The case the light and ballast comes in is 100% garbage and stiched by idiots. so expect that to break after the third use. INTELLYTECH GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND EVERYONE WOULD BUY THIS THING.

Incredible Light

I have been using the Mega-LiteCloth for 2 years now and it's amazing for a large key on interviews to moody narrative projects. The color accuracy is fantastic, the fan is very quiet, and it's bright. You can rig the light with or without the frame. The one thing to watch out for is that the babypin is the short style and I prefer a longer babypin to use with gobo heads. I've used this light on narrative films and it's amazing.

My favorite light for both video and photo

Love this light for nearly everything I do including portraits and product shoots. It provides a massive source of soft light that makes everything look good. While it's primarily a video light, I use it for portraits and headshot sessions as a continuous light and it helps me create consistently great results. The included case is a really nice touch and the frame is brilliantly designed to set up in seconds. The included diffusion as well as the grid are great bonuses that I appreciate. I've been using this on everything from large client shoots to portrait sessions in my home studio and highly recommend it.

Questionable modifiers but light is nice

I haven't actually had a chance to use this on a production just yet but I have set it up a couple of times to feel it out and test the color quality and output. The mat itself is really nice. The frame is awesome too and really easy to setup. I'm not a fan of the bungie strap method of attachment. They don't really seem to get that tight. The soft box doesn't fully cover the metal frame. I think it would be better if it where deeper. As it stands you can still see the led bulbs. Overall this is really great. I kind of question the price being only bi-color but it's definitely something I am going to incorporate in my kit.

Hard to beat for the $$$ better with some DIY mods...

I own 3 of these and have quite a bit of experience with them. The talk of these having a green spike at 5600K vs Lite Mat (by another reviewer) fails to account for the LM line running very magenta - i need 1/8 plus green on all my LM Plus to zero out magenta. I own 3 mega and do not see any significant green spikes, i find it does start going slightly green below about 3000K-- but is very solid in the 3200-5600K range, even when dimmed. Bi color lights are going to skew either magenta or green somewhere in the range, that's part of the issue with bi-color lights. To make this light more versatile like a Lite Gear Lite Mat, I cut off the OEM diffusion with a sharp blade and lined the perimeter with velcro, had TRP makes me 1/4, 1/2 and Magic cloth so i now have multiple diffusion options (OEM Eggcrate still fits). The OEM case is too big and fell apart on me quickly, i repacked 2 units in Tenba cases and it's a way better travel solution. The color metrics on these are exceptionally good vs LM Series 2 or LM Plus series... the 2.o version of the mega has much better power supply and header but otherwise identical. Build Quality is ok for me at this price point. 2 Mega really hero for me behind a 6x6 Butterfly frame with magic cloth, the mega can be used naked and pushed very close to the magic cloth and with a 6x6 LCD egg crate you have a beautiful soft controlled key source with a very very narrow footprint at about the same rental as a single Arri s60 (2 mega vs 1 S60). Also super lite weight which makes rigging over head very easy... can make a large overhead soft box out of 2 or 3 of these very fast, skirted with black duvatyne. The LED Emitters on the mega do have some built in diffusion and I find when max output is needed they are really great just raw w/o diffusion. They are not cue-able lights VIA dmx as they're too step-y, however can be adjusted for level/color remotely (ballast has DMX in/out with RJ45) Overall a great value, mine rent all the time.

So close to perfect

This light is BRIGHT. I normally don't turn the brightness up past 10% when I'm using it interior even if I'm competing with a window. My biggest complaint is the green spike. I always have to travel with 1/8 + magenta. The baby pin clamp thing that it comes with always comes loose and never feels that secure. I like the frame. It's clever how it folds up. I thought when I bought it I would see other accessories like other options for diffusion levels and color correction, but Intellytech still hasn't released anything. I saw someone had some custom options made from TRP, I'm not sure how that works since the diffusion has a rigid frame thing built into it to create separation from the LEDs and create a softer source. I guess I could have a few rags made that were the correct size and just cut the rag out of the center of the one I have so I can just put the custom rags on top of it... but that seems like a sloppy solution and expensive. WISH THEY WOULD JUST MAKE AN UNBLEACHED MUSLIN AND A FULL FAMILY OF GRID CLOTHS FOR IT. I'D BUY A WHOLE SET. So close to being a great light. Maybe 3.0 will be better.

The best light for my talent!

I've been a fan of Intellytech products for a long while, and their products continue to impress me. I ordered my Mega, which was on my steps two days later, inside a durable rolling case. Moments later, I had a confirmation email from the shipping company and Intellytech. The entire lite cloth series is fantastic, but the Mega Litecloth is the only light I want to use on my actor's faces. In the past, I could only make a light this flattering with several lights pointed through a massive piece of diffusion, and it took forever to set that up. My Mega only takes 8 or 9 minutes to set up. And the weight is nothing. Right now, mine is hanging from the aluminum grid in my studio like a champ! As i move into my next feature film, my biggest concern is how to get a Mega LC onto all the sets i built because doing that means I'm going to be just fine. I'm ordering another asap.
