The tan Countryman E6 Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Low Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and 3.5mm Locking Connector for Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom Portable Recorders is a vocal microphone with an adjustable boom that weighs less than one tenth of an ounce and is designed to be used by only one person. Once adjusted, it will continually hold this shape.

The E6 earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6 earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6 earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom DM-420, DM-520, DM-620, DS-2400, DS-40, DS-51, DS-61, DS-71, LS-10, LS-14, R05, R09HR, PCM-D50, PCM-M10, DR-05, DR-07mkII, DR-08, PR-10, Pocketrak C24, Pocketrak W24, H1, H2, and H2n portable recorders.

Miniature Unobtrusive Design
The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.
Difference Between the Different Boom Flexibilites
The classic E6 is a good choice when one person will wear the microphone. Because the boom is stiffer, it can be adjusted to fit, then stored away and quickly reworn.
Rugged and Reliable
The E6's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.
Versatile
The E6 earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)
Excellent Isolation
Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6 earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.
Removable Cable
The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

I use these in a corporate speech and presentation environment. I have tried other knock-offs some of these knock offs have good sound quality, but sacrifice build quality, some are built ok, but sound like you are talking into a bowl with literally nothing from the lower mids down. Some look bad and sound bad. The Countryman E6 is the best performing and longest lasting ear-set microphone I have ever tried. They are really expensive, but in my opinion if you have the budget, they are worth it.

Our church has used the E6 with 2mm cable for several years now for three transmitters.  The 1mm standard cable was always the weakest link and first to fail, usually right after the warranty expired.  We also tried a less expensive earset that failed even sooner, several times within the one-year warranty period.  With E6 and 2mm cable, weve finally found a solution that provides a reasonable life for the cost.  Normally we only have to replace the cable after around 2 years of use.  This time we had to replace the entire earset when the pastor broke the wire in two pieces.  Thats not to throw shade on the E6--its been the best to stand up to the heavy use. Id add one more star if the price were just a little more reasonable but have been very happy with this product.  Pricing, shipping and service from B&H has always been top notch, so 5 stars for B&H.

My beige head worn (ear loop) countryman mic ...

My beige head worn (ear loop) countryman mic started breaking up - static, etc. The problem was in the connection between the cable and the mic. I rotated the part of the connector at the cable back and forth about a half turn, and it made less noise and cleared up after a few turns. Does this connector release from the mic if it is pulled out, or is it not meant to disconnect? I would like to disconnect it if possible and spray the connections with CAIG D5 to clean the connection.

Yes, the Countryman E6 Earset Microphone does have a detachable cable. You can see the mic without the cable in the second photo and the cable is shown by itself in the fourth photo. The cable can be replaced if needed with the Countryman E6 & E6i Snap-on Replacement Microphone Cable (B&H # COE6CT1SR) which has a 3.5mm locking connector that is compatible for use with Sennheiser wireless bodypack transmitters. Countryman also offers replacement cables in different colors and with different connectors.

Will this Countryman E6 with 3.5mm locking connector work with any wireless transmitter that has a 3.5mm (1/8") input? For example, will it work with the Rodelink Filmmaker Wireless transmitters?

The locking 3.5mm connector on this Countryman mic is wired for Sennheiser, but it will work with the Rode Filmmaker transmitters. Sony wires their 3.5mm mics differently, so this will not work with Sony transmitters. Countryman has many version of their mic models to cover most manufacturer's wiring and technical specifications.

This version in the W5 band is best for talking and spoken word only applications, BH #COE6OW5C2SL. Please note the version selected is in the color Cocoa, and is wired for in a ta4f connection for Shure wireless systems.

How sturdy are these? We are replacing some Apex headsets that appear to be quite delicate, two have failed so far; they have been used and stored very carefully...

Strong so far. Our new Senior Pastor has been using this brand for years and speaks very highly of it...hence buying new one for him. I would not recommend for kids being kids. Our guest speakers use same brand but older models (we have 3) and those have held up strong as well all these years. We have only had to replace the earclip once when it was sat on. Company stands behind their product!
