The Sony BP-U70 is a high-performance 72Wh lithium-ion battery compatible with select Sony professional video cameras, such as the FS7 (see below). Battery died after very little use

This came with my FX6 and I almost never used it... used third party Watsons instead because they last all day. But I would charge this one occasionally and carry it as a backup. Admittedly, it's been in storage for over a year, but when I went to charge it this time it's totally dead. Won't charge. It's out of warranty so it's become e-waste. The Watsons also lay dormant but are still fine. So though I thought this would last longer as a real Sony product, it's very disappointing.

Easier than cabling

I should get over 5 hours of video capture time in a new Sony 4K camcorder. Have not had the opportunity to prove this, but the specs work. I have a couple of older camcorder that use the FP and NP series batteries and they provide a ton of time for the older camcorders. Worst case is the new BP series large battery can also be used with the other camcorders, Elvid monitors and small LED lights I work with..
