Fast Aperture Wide Angle to Portrait-Length Lens
As part of the Art line within Sigma's Global Vision series, this lens is designed to achieve truly notable optical performance and is ideally suited for creative and artistic applications. Full-Frame and APS-C Compatible Autofocus Lens
  • Standard zoom is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras but can also be used with APS-C-format models, where it will provide a 36-105mm equivalent focal length range.
  • Integrated stepping motor realizes quick and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance.
Sophisticated Optical Design
  • Six F Low Dispersion (FLD) and two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements markedly reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy.
  • Three aspherical elements control spherical aberrations and distortion for increased sharpness and accurate rendering.
  • Super Multi-Layer and Nano Porous Coatings have been applied to lens elements in order to minimize lens flare and ghosting and contribute to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.
    Close Focus with Pleasing Bokeh
    • At the wide-angle end of the zoom range, a minimum focusing distance of 7.1" is possible with a maximum magnification of 1:2.9 to suit working with close-up subjects.
    • At the telephoto end, the minimum focusing distance is 1.25' with a maximum magnification of 1:4.5.
    • The rounded 11-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
    Lens Features
    • Integrated AF-L button can be programmed to adjust various shooting settings and the lens also features a dedicated AF/MF switch and a zoom lock switch to prevent the barrel from accidentally extended.
    • Integrated stepping motor achieves quick and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance.
    Durable
    • A chrome-plated brass bayonet lens mount affords improved mounting accuracy and rigidity.
    • Rubber seals are incorporated in the mount's design to render it dust- and splash-resistant, making it ready to create images even on location in harsh environments.

Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Reviews

      Extremely Sharp and Versatile

There is clearly a reason this is one of the best selling lenses for full frame Sony cameras. The price to performance ratio is fantastic and it is very well built. It is definitely a little heavy and large compared to other zoom lenses I have had but the performance justifies the weight. I have had no issues with internal dust as some have mentioned but will update my review if I notice a problem.

      Great on the SL2-S

At least with the Leica SL2-S, there were no focus delays as some reviewers seemed to imply. The lens is crisp, versatile and has plenty of 3D POP. Bought with trepidation thinking I would probably return it, now I can't live without it and will investigate the Sigma primes.

      Almost perfect

I bought this for my new Sony A7III. I would have given this a 5-star review except for the fact that it is as long as and weighs as much as my Sigma 24-70 I bought for my Sony a-77 (with the converter I purchased). The only reason I upgraded was an annoying focus problem in video mode with the old lens. That said, the focus is fast as very accurate and has performed flawlessly since I received it. I recently took it to Chicago and the camera/lens combination became an extension of my hands. I didn't have to even think about the lens. It just did its thing. I'm very pleased with this aspect!

My first sigma lens. I am blown away by the quality. It's a hefty lens and that took some getting used to.

      Sharp but heavy

Nice standard 24-70 zoom. Image quality with an A7iii is fantastic, sharp by my standards at 2.8 but admittedly I'm not really a pixel peeper. It's a bit bulky and heavy, but this has been living on my camera since purchasing it. No issues with dust so far. Will probably continue to be my walk around lens for the foreseeable future.

My copy does not have zoom creep when the camera is held steady and pointed straight up or down. If the camera is also shaken vertically, it does have zoom creep. The zoom lock is only available at 24mm.
