question

Does this work for any DSLR? I have the Nikon D3100.
Asked by: Anonymous
The Audio-Technica ATR1300 is a dynamic mic which requires no external powering. This makes it widely compatible with devices that feature mic input capabilities. This is true for DSLRs as well as portable audio recorders and similar devices. Unfortunately the Nikon D3100 specifically, does not offer an external mic input jack and would not be able to this or external mics in general.

question

Is the thread on the stand mount 5/8 or 3/8?
Asked by: Rob A.
The clip and stand are 5/8 . If you find a little brass piece inside the clip with 2 slots in it. Use a dime and unscrew it and take it out. That is a 3/8 adaptor . Mic stands and clips are 5/8.

question

Do I need phantom power or a audio mixer for this mic?
Asked by: Craig L.
But you know, this is my least favorite mic. Two mics I really like that I got for about the same price are Samson R31S & Behringer XM8500. Both of these have a frequency range of 50Hz to 15kHz as opposed to this ATR1300's frequency range of 70Hz to 12,000Hz. The frequency range doesn't necessarily tell the whole story of the sound. For one it usually only tells what the range is at one sound level. And there are a number of different factors. But, I do like those other two less expensive mics better and got them for the same basic price.
