AMD TRX40 Chipset
Supporting third-generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, the TRX40 chipset is designed for visual effects artists, data scientists, and other professionals who require high-end computing power. The chipset takes advantage of PCIe 4.0 bandwidth for multi-GPU configurations, NVMe storage arrays, and more. Additionally, the platform supports quad-channel DDR4 ECC RAM with unlocked overclocking for even greater speed and power.
Enhanced Cooling
  • ProCool II Connectors: The three ProCool II connectors feature a reinforced metal construction to help ensure secure connections to the EPS 12V power lines with better heat dissipation.
  • VRM Heatsink: The motherboard features a large voltage-regulator module (VRM) heatsink with a built-in fan and thermal pads to quickly transfer heat away from sensitive components.
  • Active Chipset Heatsink: A dedicated header powers an onboard heatsink and fan combination that helps to cool the chipset and avoid throttling during sustained data transfers.
  • Aluminum Covers: An embedded heatpipe connects the primary heatsink to an aluminum I/O cover to increase the total surface area for cooling. A separate cover helps to cool the two onboard M.2 drives.
  • DIMM.2 Heatsink: The included DIMM.2 module cools installed M.2 drives with a metal heatsink to help prevent speed throttling when the SSDs become too hot.
