Countryman I2 Overview

By B&H Photo's

The black I2 Flute Microphone Kit with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. The flute mount is a very low-profile mount that brings the microphone closer for good pickup and isolation. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC wireless bodypack transmitters.

Unparalleled Precision
The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.
Complete Control
Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.
Effortless Possibilities
Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.
Polar Pattern
The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor).
