Enhance your display's audio with the Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro 7.1 SSE 600W Soundbar System. The included 8" wireless subwoofer provides low bass impact and provides power and audio to the satellite speakers. The system's ability to decode Dolby and DTS signals, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, helps provide an immersive surround sound experience with compatible content.

This soundbar system has Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with your compatible smart device and wirelessly streaming your audio content. Its wired connections include optical, digital coaxial, 1/8", and three HDMI inputs to support a variety of source types. The soundbar also has a USB port for playback of MP3 and WAV files. Its HDMI output is ARC-compatible, so you can hear display-based audio from built-in apps like Netflix and YouTube. It includes a backlit remote control as an added convenience.

The Soundwafe Pro 7.1 SSE can decode Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based multidimensional audio that seems like it's flowing around, above, and through you.
Spatial Surround Elevation (SSE) Processing Technology
The three processing engines (Spatial, Surround, and Elevation) are designed to work in harmony to help produce detailed, immersive audio.
  • The Spatial engine performs spatial-amplification techniques and engages the four tweeters in the system to provide enhanced detail and directionality, and enlarge the spaciousness of the soundstage.
  • The Surround engine provides upmixing, phase, and volume augmentations to help optimize the clarity and balance of the sound across all the channels.
  • The Elevation engine enables the processing of object-based content, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and interlaces a height effects sound layer into each driver to help provide a more immersive perception of directionally vertical effects.
8" Wireless Subwoofer
The down-firing wireless subwoofer is engineered to produce bass effects that are smooth and virtually impossible to localize. It emits bass effects as low as 35 Hz directly onto the surface of the floor to distribute bass in all directions.
Two 2-Way Satellite Speakers
The two satellite speakers are designed to provide clear, immersive surround effects. They can be used as rear channels or in up-firing Atmos configurations.
Side-Firing Effects Tweeters
The side-firing tweeters in the soundbar help envelop you in surround effects.
Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Object-Based Surround Sound
Dolby Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. Similarly, DTS:X delivers individual sounds virtually anywhere in your room and moves them around in 3D space, including above you.
Quad-Core Surround Processor
The embedded Cirrus Logic quad-core DSP chipset processes soundtracks with speed, precision, and clarity.
Dolby Vision HDR Pass-Through
The HDMI inputs and output support the pass-through of Dolby Vision HDR signals from compatible source equipment and media to your compatible TV. 4K UHD pass-through is also supported.
Bluetooth with aptX
Stream music wirelessly from your compatible device with Bluetooth. aptX technology helps enhance Bluetooth sound quality for more detailed wireless playback.
Backlit Remote Control

For the longest time I have only used a 2.1 soundbar, but I've always wanted something truly cinematic for the house. After hours of comparing products and seeing reviews from many different brands and systems I chose this. This exceeded expectations! The sound is pure excellence! It's a simple setup, good wall mounting accessories and perfect for movie and gaming experience. And B&H had the best price and fast delivery. The kid came out in me when I received it. It's my precious.

I had many soundbars over the years i will say this one for what you get for the sound is a very good sound for the buck! i actly use this as a pc soundbar game moive and ect. This one i find is the go to the bass is awsome and the all around sound is ture to ones ears ! it is hard to talk about sound when you cant hear it but take it from me someone who had all most ever sound bar on the market. this is right up there with the Sonos arc bar but then one has more sound due to the off setting speakers

Hard to set up preferences. Sound bar cannot keep up with skipping commercials or fast forwarding. Locks up. Have to constantly unplug the power to reset the unit..

Highly recommend. I wish all tech support was this good. Unlike many home users I mostly listen to music and due to the way my room is laid out I wanted a sound bar with low latency bluetooth connectivity. The sound bar setup was simple, but the two satellite speakers had no sound. I contacted Nakamichi technical support and over the course of 3 days tried the various things the tech support folks recommended, which included flashing the firmware from version 33 to version 35. Along the way I had two USB drives that would not work with the unit, so tech support overnighted a usb drive with the files loaded. After flash everything is working perfectly.

The sound bar was easy to set up and performs well in a medium sized game room. Presets (movie, game etc) work well.

Does this system as a 7.1.4 actually have four ...

Does this system as a 7.1.4 actually have four upward firing speakers? I know there are two in the in the sound bar but not sure that the rear speakers are up firing in support of Atmos.

As others have said, the soundbar doesn't use upward firing speakers but instead uses sound processing along with the rear speakers being able to be placed on its sides to help simulate the Atmos/DTS-X effect.
