Enhance your display's audio with the Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 SSE 1000W Soundbar System. It features a soundbar with left, right, and center channels, two side-firing tweeters, and four satellite speakers that can act as either rear channels, up-firing Atmos speakers, paired off in dipole configurations, or a combination of configurations. The two included 10" wireless subwoofers provide low bass impact and send power and audio to the satellite speakers. The system's ability to decode Dolby and DTS signals, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, helps provide an immersive surround sound experience with compatible content.

This soundbar system has Bluetooth connectivity for pairing with your compatible smart device and wirelessly streaming your audio content. Its wired connections include optical, digital coaxial, 1/8", and three HDMI inputs to support a variety of source types. The soundbar also has a USB port for playback of MP3 and WAV files. Its HDMI output is ARC-compatible, so you can hear display-based audio from built-in apps like Netflix and YouTube. It includes a backlit remote control as an added convenience.

Designed for Immersive Audio
The Soundwafe Ultra 9.2 SSE can decode Dolby Atmos and DTS:X object-based multidimensional audio that seems like it's flowing around, above, and through you.
Spatial Surround Elevation (SSE) Processing Technology
The three processing engines (Spatial, Surround, and Elevation) are designed to work in harmony to help produce detailed, immersive audio.
  • The Spatial engine performs spatial-amplification techniques and engages the six tweeters in the system to provide enhanced detail and directionality, and enlarge the spaciousness of the soundstage.
  • The Surround engine provides upmixing, phase, and volume augmentations to help optimize the clarity and balance of the sound across all the channels.
  • The Elevation engine enables the processing of object-based content, including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and interlaces a height effects sound layer into each driver to help provide a more immersive perception of directionally vertical effects.
Dual 10" Wireless Subwoofers
The two down-firing wireless subwoofers are engineered to produce bass effects that are smooth and virtually impossible to localize. They emit bass effects as low as 30 Hz directly onto the surface of the floor to distribute bass in all directions. Using two subwoofers helps create a sweet spot with no boundary for reduced distortion and smooth, balanced bass effects at all listening levels.
Four 2-Way Satellite Speakers
The four satellite speakers are designed to provide clear, immersive surround effects. They can be used as rear channels, side channels, coupled into pairs in dipole configurations, or in up-firing Atmos configurations.
Side-Firing Effects Tweeters
The side-firing tweeters in the soundbar help envelop you in surround effects.
Dolby Atmos & DTS:X Object-Based Surround Sound
Dolby Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. Similarly, DTS:X delivers individual sounds virtually anywhere in your room and moves them around in 3D space, including above you.
Quad-Core Surround Processor
The embedded Cirrus Logic quad-core DSP chipset processes soundtracks with speed, precision, and clarity.
Dolby Vision HDR Pass-Through
The HDMI inputs and output support the pass-through of Dolby Vision HDR signals from compatible source equipment and media to your compatible TV. 4K UHD pass-through is also supported.
Bluetooth with aptX
Stream music wirelessly from your compatible device with Bluetooth. aptX technology helps enhance Bluetooth sound quality for more detailed wireless playback.
Backlit Remote Control
The 52-key backlit remote control allows seamless control, even in the dark. It provides access to source inputs, EQ settings, individual channel volume, three modes of SSE personalization, one-button room size optimization, and lip sync adjustments.
One-Button Room Optimization
This function is designed to optimize your surround sound based on preconfigured settings for small, medium, and large room sizes.
SSE Control
Personalize your SSE experience with three preconfigured modes to match the acoustics of your theater room.

how does it compare to Sonos?

how does it compare to Sonos?
Asked by: Jay
I cannot answer whether SONOS or Nakamichi will sound better, as that is very subjective - however there are some facts that you need to be aware before making a determination, as this is truly an apples to oranges comparison. SONOS was not originally intended as a home theater solution - over time and reluctantly they expanded into this realm but it is far from perfect SONOS does not support Atmos SONOS does not support any other configuration than 3.1 (no surround) or 5.1 (surround) SONOS is way more expensive - the 5.1 bundle will cost you at least 18% more If you consider dual subs to be important, SONOS simply cannot give you that not matter how much money you'd want to spend. Nakamichi on the other hand does not have an app like SONOS does. Their app is awesome at integrating music sources such as Spotify, Tidal, and so on. SONOS allows you to have multi-room music setups that are second to none, Nakamichi is a home theater appliance setup. If you decide for a SONOS, I would not compromise with a BEAM. Go for the PLAYBAR or PLAYBASE.

As others have said they are wireless in the sense that you do not need to run wires across your room. But, you have to wire them to the sub.

i have a butt shaker system with its own amp where can i pick up a signal from on this system to hook into ?
Asked by: harold
I assume you're referring to the ButtKicker LFE Low Frequency Audio Transducer? The Nakamichi Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 SSE 1000W Soundbar System only works with the included wireless subwoofers. There is no wired subwoofer connection. So, there is nowhere to connect a ButtKicker system.
