WD Desktop External HDD Reviews
Needed a Backup for my backups with everything in one spot
Great for a archive backup options. Probably should have purchased one with USB-C adapter to minimize with amount of dongles needed. I don't work off this hard drive I just use it to store and archive.
Lots of space
Lots of room to store or transfer tons of files.
Easy to use, works flawlessly.
No problems with performance. I've had many WD EHDs over the years and had no issues with any of them.
Good Drives
I have a number of these. They just keep on working.
Do not power up after 2 months
I had the bad unit I guess. It won't power up after 2 months. I lost all data. It's extremely hard to get in contact with western digital customer service people in India and so hard to follow their English. very disappointed and never buy this brand in future.
perfect
I use this drive as an external backup for photo's. Works without a problem.
initial issues with external hard drive.
Upon receiving the hard drive I had a very difficult time getting the drive to install any folders. The computer recognized the hard drive but would not accept any items to be stored. It took several call sessions with Western Digital to finally correct the problem. the file system had to be changed. It now is working properly.
Bricked within 6 months of purchasing
It's unfortunate, the drive was fine until it died with no prior indication of it failing.
