Great for a archive backup options. Probably should have purchased one with USB-C adapter to minimize with amount of dongles needed. I don't work off this hard drive I just use it to store and archive.

I had the bad unit I guess. It won't power up after 2 months. I lost all data. It's extremely hard to get in contact with western digital customer service people in India and so hard to follow their English. very disappointed and never buy this brand in future.

Upon receiving the hard drive I had a very difficult time getting the drive to install any folders. The computer recognized the hard drive but would not accept any items to be stored. It took several call sessions with Western Digital to finally correct the problem. the file system had to be changed. It now is working properly.

Yes, it is possible to share files between Windows & Mac with this WD 12TB Elements Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive. You will need to first reformat the drive to exFat.

My hp omen did not recognize WD - Easystore 10TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive. Wondering why and if the WD 12tb would be recognize? My computer recognize all other external drives.

If you are running Windows 10, there is no reason why it would not other than you having a defective drive or the wrong format/configuration on the drive. The WD 12TB Elements Desktop USB 3.0 External Hard Drive BH #WEBWLG0120HB comes pre-formatted NTFS for Windows so it is plug and play.
