Looking to replace a desk lamp, old one taking up too much space.
Went looking and found this BenQ Screen bar. Just what I wanted.
Does the job and best of all, it takes up no desk space, yay.
Difficult to appreciate-low build quality and more

Purchased this on 4/3/22 and it arrived from B&H in 2 days (kudos) with much anticipation...however this is where it ends for me. The lamp comes packaged very nicely leading you to think the $120+ you've just spent is going to be worth it. Let's begin with built quality...fail! Lamp unit itself feels cheap, end caps pop off if you remove the lamp and are difficult to reattach. You will be unable to get the light completely off of the screen and only on the desktop without the LED elements shining directly in your eyes. Now about function...the dimming range is awful doesn't get dim enough (my Quintus lamp which cost a quarter of the BenQ can get really dim), however I do like the puck control vs touch. Because I am completely on the other side of the country from B&H, I decided to just live with it and not return it, but I would certainly never recommend it. There are cheaper alternatives with similar build quality and functions. It's over priced and lacks build quality and function to justify the price. If you want to be consider top tier like Apple for your products and charge insane prices, then you should deliver. BenQ should be ashamed for putting out such a cheap product. I won't be buying anything BenQ in the future.

This is a well designed light, but it may or or may not work for you depending on your monitor position. On my iMac Pro, the light attaches fine, but I can't position the light so that I don't see the LEDs without the light casting light onto the computer screen. My guess is that a taller person would not have this issue, as their eye level would be above the LEDs. I am going to put a thin strip of gaffer tape along the front edge to hide the LEDs, which will likely reduce the spread of light onto my desktop. Thus, my fix may limit the functionality of this light.
The output is adequate for my needs, but I wish it would adjust to both to lower setting and higher settings. The adjustable color temperature feature is great, but there is no indication of that the settings for intensity or color are.
For the life of me, I can't figure out how (or if) the auto level feature works. No matter what my room ambient light is, the light level is the same. Even if I cover the sensor, nothing changes.
My last nit pick is that I wish the cables were much longer. I don't want to plug the power cable into my iMac, so I need to run it to a power supply on the floor. It barely reaches the outlet behind my desk, so I think this cable should be at least a foot or two longer.
Overall, the light does what you expect it to, and most people will likely enjoy having it.
Great Light

The light gets really bright and the knob is well built. The auto brightness feature will only set the light temperature to reading mode. Wish we can have auto brightness with a warmer light
Nice!

This is a nice light for a monitor. I was kind of skeptical but after using it a week I've decided it would be difficult to live without it. The quality is very good and the control dial right at desk level is very nice. Overall, I would recommend!

This light is great, provides light on your table or desk but doesn't affect the screen.
works well, but there is glare from the LEDs

I quite like the design of this light and use it daily. The range of brightness is fine for my work area and I like being able to change color temperature.
It balances a bit precariously on my iMac Pro, but as I don't have to touch it to turn it on/off, that's OK. I don't have the light on when doing Zoom calls, but it appears that it does put light directly into the iMac Pro's camera.
I don't understand how the auto-brightness adjust is supposed to work. Maybe it is user error on my part, but it does not seem to adjust automatically when enabled during changes in light.
The one issue I have is that if I rotated the light to avoid light spill on my iMac Pro monitor, there is a strong glare from the light itself. Meaning, I see the LEDs which are harsh on the eyes. I think this is because I am short and thus the ScreenBar is above my eye line. This could have been minimized with slightly less forward beam angle. Thus, taller users may not have this issue. Just know that if you want to illuminate your desktop, there is a chance you will be looking into the LEDs when viewing your screen.
Overall I think it's a good product, and recommend it.

Great lighting. Bento needs to modify photography monitor shield to accommodate the use of this light.
