Westcott FJ-XR Reviews
Works flawlessly with Westcott transmitter
Great way to repurpose old strobes after upgrading to a Westcott wireless system.
Way to fire my speed lights from my new Westcott FJ400
Got a new Westcott FJ400 and had a few Godox Speed Lights. This wireless receiver allows me to sync the firing of the speed lights with the FJ400. Perfect!!!!
These are much better than my old pocketwizards which I kept around for mixing and matching strobe brands. I finally had enough once I got the Westcott FJ400 because the controller is so good. I haven't had a chance to really have an extended shoot using all 3 of the receivers I got, but the tests I did were good. They are tiny and have an onboard battery which lasts a long time. Because you need to recharge them you'll need to keep an eye on them and be sure to charge before long shoots. They work fine on my Orlit heads and my Profoto B2.
DUMPED MY POCKETWIZARDS
My PocketWizard PlusX has proven to be unreliable these past 3 years. I literally have to keep turning the triggers off and on to sync, shifting channels now and then, right in the middle of my shoot. Totally annoying! When I got my Wescott FJ400 and the FJ-X2m trigger, I decided to get their receiver. I tried them on my Photogenic 1250s and it never missed a beat.
This accessory is very useful if you want to use a speedlight as a second light source with Westcott FJ400 strobe.
Had non-westcott flash I wanted to be able to use with my FJ400 strobes, got this little guy. Works great, no issues at all.
