A popular zoom among sports, event, and portrait photographers, the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S from Nikon is an impressively versatile telephoto lens characterized by its bright f/2.8 design. The fast maximum aperture suits working in available lighting conditions and also affords increased control over depth of field for isolating subjects with selective focus. The optical design incorporates a series of ED, fluorite, and SR elements, which help to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy. Additionally, ARNEO and Nano Crystal Coats, as well as a Super Integrated Coating, have been applied to suppress flare, ghosting, and surface reflections for improved contrast and color fidelity.

When used with a Nikon Z6 or Z7, is this lens designed to be water-resistant or water proof? What are the recommendations for use during a (light) rain?
The Nikon Z6 Mirrorless Digital Camera, the Nikon Z7 Mirrorless Digital Camera, and the NIKKOR Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S Lens are all weather-sealed products from Nikon to protect both the cameras and the lens from dust and moisture. They are not waterproof, so neither the cameras nor the lens can be submerged or used underwater, but they can be used in inclement weather.

Can this lens be used for Macro photography?
Can this lens be used for Macro photography?
While it can focus to under two feet, it cannot give you true macro imaging which would require a 1:1 (life size) magnification ratio. A combination of extension tubes and or close-up lenses would be needed for macro imaging, if possible, with this lens. Distortion and image degradation would likely also be a problem.
