Does this drive work with Chromebooks - ...

Does this drive work with Chromebooks - specifically with the security biometric feature?
Asked by: Tim
I just purchased the drive and tested it with various laptops; Windows 10, MacBook Pro, Chomebook. Although the management software (allows you to set security password and fingerprints) may only be compatible with Windows, Macs & Androids, the drive itself can be used with Chromebooks. You simply connect the drive to the USB-C port. Using the Chromebook 'Files' app, it shows the non-encrypted files like normal. You simply use the fingerprint feature on the T7 and very quickly the Chromebook sees the drive and contents. So it really is compatible with Chromebook, albeit not the management software. You only need to use the management software once just to set it up (or make any changes.) Then you're good to go on any machine (assuming you use the default exFAT format which is compatible with all platforms.)
