Saramonic C-XLR+ Overview

The Saramonic C-XLR+ is an adapter that lets you connect a mic equipped with a 3.5mm TRS connector to the XLR input of a professional camera, recorder, or mixer.

The C-XLR+ also converts 12-48V phantom power down to 3-5V plug-in power, allowing lavalier, headset, and shotgun mics to receive power from the XLR connector.

Compact and lightweight, the adapter is terminated by a 3.5mm female TRS connector at one end and an XLR male connector at the other. The 3.5mm connector is threaded to ensure your mic doesn't disconnect during recording.

Can someone describe what is connected to each ...

Can someone describe what is connected to each 1/8 in. connection (tip. ring, sleeve) in terms of signal, power, and ground? (This would go a long way to answering compatibility questions.) Thanks.

Although a specific wiring diagram is not available for the input connection on the Saramonic C-XLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter, we can confirm that this adapter is compatible with microphones using the common "Sennheiser" wiring configuration, which Saramonic lavaliers also use. This adapter is not compatible for use with microphones wired for compatibility with Sony wireless transmitters.

Does this work with Sennheiser MKE2 lav mics?
Asked by: Tyler
Yes, but only certain configurations. If yours is wired for Locking 3.5mm with the Sennheiser pin-out, then absolutely. There are a lot of versions of the Sennheiser MKE2, so it has to be the right configuration.
