An especially sleek and lightweight prime, the FUJIFILM XC 35mm f/2 is a 53mm-equivalent lens offering a natural, normal-length field of view with an especially portable design. The lens incorporates a pair of aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations and distortion in order to achieve high sharpness and accurate rendering. A stepping motor autofocus system promotes quick, quiet, and accurate focusing performance and the rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes a pleasing bokeh. This simple feature-set fits perfectly with the lens's petite design that makes it an ideal every day, walkaround lens.

FUJIFILM XC 35mm f/2 Reviews
Excellent value for money, especially for an OEM lens!
In my opinion the competition of the XC 35mm is its Fujicron cousin, the XF 35mm f/2 WR. With the XC at half the price of the XF, you get the same set of glass and optical characteristics, as well as AF speed and noise levels. Size-wise they are quite similar, despite their different shape. And this is where the similarities end as the two lenses could not be more different in most other aspects. The XC has a plastic body and mount, is not WR, has no aperture ring, comes with no hood and weighs 130 grams. The XF's body and mount are made of metal, is WR, has an aperture ring, comes with a basic hood and weighs 170 grams. It’s nice that Fujifilm offers two different options for an inexpensive 35mm OEM lens, and in my case the XC was the winner as it covers perfectly my needs. I would give it 5 stars instead of 4, if Fujifilm included a basic, cheap hood with it, even by increasing the price by a few dollars. Hood-wise, what made it even more inconvenient for me was that B&H did not carry any when I purchased the lens and I had to purchase elsewhere. I know, Western world problems… In conclusion, both lenses get stellar reviews by their users, so the important thing is to know your priorities. If you do, you cannot go wrong with any of the two.
