Loupedeck CT Overview

The Loupedeck Creative Tool is a powerful and customizable console that puts editing and design software tools at your fingertips. Compatible with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Lightroom, Apple Final Cut Pro, Ableton Live, and more, users will be able to create and switch been custom workspaces, select and customize tools and brushes, switch between working with photos and videos, or jump between different software titles, all from one interface. Also available is Profile Creator functionality, which maps almost any application to the Loupedeck, for actions and adjustments, including shortcuts, keys, delays, macros, text, links, run an application, mouse movements, and more.

Loupedeck's Creative Tool works with Windows 10 and macOS 10.13 or later. It supports both USB and Bluetooth connections and requires an external power supply. Included is a USB-C 2.0 to USB-A cable.

Predefined workspaces are dedicated to each stage of the editing process, incorporating regularly used functions for color grading, retouching, rating, and more. Or, create your own personal workspaces with the tools to suit your own workflow.
Loupedeck Profile Creator
Users can build custom profiles to most applications using actions and adjustments that include shortcuts, keys, delays, macros, text, links, running applications, mouse movements, and more. The profile will automatically switch the Loupedeck device on when the application is activated. Loupedeck's site also features pre-made custom profiles for applications that include Google Chrome, Steinberg Cubase Elements10_5 and CubasePro10_5, Microsoft Excel and Outlook, Mozilla Firefox, Photo Mechanic, Avid Pro Tools 12,7,1, DaVincy Resolve 16, Apple Logic Pro X, Izotope RX 7, Serato DJ Pro, and Pixlogic Zbrush 2020.
Create Custom Workspaces
The Loupedeck comes with a set of preset workspaces dedicated to every step of the editing process, with commonly used functions like color grading, retouching, editing, and more. You can use those, or you can create your own custom workspaces with all the tools and functions you use. Add your own actions using macros and keyboard shortcuts to add even more personalized functions. With color-coordinated customizable buttons, dials, and touchscreens, you can create as many workspaces as you need. You can break them down by editing stage, project type, or however you like.

AI Assistant Plugin
If you're excited about ChatGPT, Loupedeck's AI Assistant plugin can help you further streamline your work. With the press of a button, you can now send readymade prompts to the AI to process. It can also perform translations, formulate polite emails, and more.
Bug Fixes
Loupedeck is happy to announce that they have fixed the bugs that made it info 5.6, such as the issue with Arrow Keys, that made using the arrow keys in many application plugins and profiles difficult.
UI Improvements
Loupedeck has added a new "Activate Menu Bar" action into the OS actions, so that you can easily make macros in software that have a menu bar on the top of the screen but lack a ribbon system to access the actions.

After some research I was well aware of the learning curve this would have, but once I got the hang of programming it, it's brought back some legitimate joy into my work flow. I've used other controllers but the loupedeck CT is so responsive it feels like you're reaching your hand into your computer to manipulate it. I use it primarily for Lightroom at the moment and made some minor tweaks to the existing preset to better work for my needs. Looking forward to getting this working for Final Cut Pro as well.

Bit of a Learning Curve

I ordered the Loupedeck Creative Tool after getting frustrated with being overly reliant on the mouse in Adobe Lightroom Classic. When using only a mouse/keyboard in Lightroom, I would have to click on the slider and drag left/right as necessary for the edit. Otherwise I would click into a box and enter a direct value. But with the Loupedeck, I can simply turn a knob and get fine control of the mapped sliders, which are out of the box once you install the control software. Speaking of out of the box, the Loupedeck has loads of preconfigured screens for a large number of tasks, which include photo editing, video editing, streaming, and at the operating system level. It automatically switches between the program profiles based on the active window/program. It is also possible to download other profiles for use with programs like Microsoft Word. My only real gripe is the learning curve seems a bit steep when wanting to add my own pages, especially to my OS profile. I would love to add a page that has my favorite programs to the basic profile, but so far, I have not figured that out. I consider myself fairly tech savvy, yet this eludes me. It is certainly not a deal breaker, but it is something to consider if you are making this purchase expecting to do heavy customization.

Speed up your workflow!

We bought 2 of these for use with Steinberg Nuendo, and Adobe Creative Suite. The units have sped up our workflow considerably! Be prepared to spend a bit of time setting it up to your specific needs (easy to edit and import key commands with the software) and building muscle memory. Once you do that, you will find you will be working much faster than using a mouse and keyboard. The big dial is worth the money alone for editing dialogue (once we programmed it:) I can also recommend SideshowFX key commands if you want to get a set preprogrammed-very comprehensive sets.

So far its been useless to me. The software is NOT easy to work with, it's badly documented and not as customizable as they want you to believe. There is much room for improvement. I do not recommend, especially at this price.

The Loupdeck seems capable of many thinks. The big issue I'm having is that I'm so use to use a trackpad and keyboard on my iMac that I am not using the Loupdeck. It's hard to unlearn what took years to learn. I may be returning it.

I really don't have much to say, other than this thing looks incredible, has unlimited potential, but just doesn't work. M1 Mac, Photoshop/Lightroom/DaVinci? Pretty much useless. If you want DaVinci support, you've got to purchase a 3rd party plugin for about $50USD. The photoshop plugin is out of date., The company doesnt seem to offer much support either. I just couldnt get this thing to work properly after a week of tinkering. A resource hog as well. You cant operate it without running their software. I requested an RMA. I hope its approved. Truly disappointing. Itfelt so cool to order, open, unbox, set up... and then fail. Not cool.

Yes, however as per the manufacture the Windows version of Capture One integration works solely with shortcuts - and is called a "Loupedeck beta integration".
