Movo Photo WMX-20 Overview

The Movo Photo WMX-20-DUO is a camera-mount wireless lavalier microphone system offering a complete, budget-friendly solution for filmmakers, videographers, and mobile journalists looking to record two subjects with a camera, camcorder, or portable audio recorder.

The dual-channel receiver can accept signal from the bodypack transmitters from up to 330' away while outputting audio in split-mono or stereo mode. A dedicated headphone output enables convenient real-time monitoring while recording. With 48 channels at your disposal, you have plenty of options for achieving wireless operation free of interference. Plus, the system utilizes the UHF band to avoid conflicts with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi devices.

Separate mic and line inputs on the transmitters can accommodate the included omnidirectional lavalier microphones or an audio feed from a camera or mixer, making the WMX-20-DUO great for traditional mic capture or camera hops. The mute buttons and adjustable gain give you easy control over the audio signal.

Powered via AA batteries (available separately), the receiver and transmitters provide up to six hours of run time. 3.5mm and XLR output cables are included to ensure easy connectivity between the receiver and your camera, camcorder, or recorder.

  • Operates on the license-free UHF frequency range from 556.71 to 595.66 MHz

Is it safe to plug the receiver into an audio interface that supplies 48V phantom power?
Asked by: Eric
Most audio interfaces that provide 48V phantom power allow for that feature to be turned off, which is what I would recommend when plugging in this system.

Is there a AC powered compatible receiver that works with these mics? The batteries in the receiver just do not last.
Asked by: GatewayToHeaven
No, unfortunately not. The Movo Photo WMX-20-DUO and their other wireless microphone systems are designed for use with cameras so the receivers all use batteries for power. There is no compatible receiver that uses AC power.

Can I use 2 of these systems on one camera and have 4 separate audio channels? If I plug one receiver in XLR 1 and the second receiver in XLR 2 can I separate all 4 channels of audio for 4 people in one camera?
Asked by: Jaymon
Yes, you can use two WMX-20-DUO systems at the same time on the same camera, but you would have two audio tracks, not four. Each receiver outputs one signal with the combined audio from its two mics. Also, the camera only records two audio tracks, not four. If you do need to have four separate audio tracks, it would be best to use individual wireless systems for each person and capture the audio on a multi-track recorder. The audio and video can be synced in post production.

Is this transmitter mountable to a camera shoe ...

Is this transmitter mountable to a camera shoe mount? If so will the audio be sent to the camera directly? I have a Canon 7d and am looking for a mountable lavalier kit to send audio directly to my camera.
Asked by: Matt
The receiver is designed to mount to a camera cold shoe. The transmitter is designed to be clipped to the persons belt. There are próducts to adapt the clip to mount to a cold shoe, such as: B&H product SKU # SECA2 and others; basically, you mount this holder to your shoe and then "clip " the transmitter to it!
