Short recycling times of 0.1 to 0.8 seconds coupled with flash durations as short as 1/7750 sec make freeze-motion, stop-action shooting possible. In fact, very high fps rates are possible at minimum power, as well as High Speed Sync that allows bright background regulation with shutter speeds of a lightning-fast 1/8000 second. Elinchrom ELC 125 Overview

By B&H Photo's

The 125Ws ELC 125 Studio Monolight from Elinchrom is yet another step forward in the evolution of its monolight design. Besides the impressive features we've come to expect from this brand, the ELC 125 added quite a bit more. An intelligent low noise, temperature-activated fan keeps the head cool and lengthens the life of the flash tube.

Power, variable continuously over 5 stops from 7 to 125Ws, can be mimicked by the 20W (120W incandescent equivalent) proportional LED modeling lamp to preview your effects. Although triggering with a sync cord is possible, the ELC 125 has a built-in 20-channel receiver that not only allows you to make wireless adjustments to power, the modeling light, and more at distances up to 656' but will allow TTL control of the light by seven compatible, major camera brands with separate purchase of an EL Skyport transmitter.

Yet another sign of versatility is the ELC 125's 100 to 240V power supply that allows you to use it anywhere in the world. The flash head is also of course, compatible Elinchrom's world-renowned, expansive array of light modifiers.

TTL, Manual Lock, Auto-On
The ELCs are ready to go the moment inspiration strikes you. With Auto-On, the unit is always in standby mode with your previous settings saved, and the onboard TTL speeds up dialing in your next exposure. The Manual Lock function enables a quick switch from TTL to Manual without losing exposure settings for quick adjustments or to explore creative effects.
Wireless Freedom
Never miss a shot with Elinchrom's Skyport radio-frequency system compatible with seven camera brands. You also get intuitive control of flash settings from your camera and your computer. Even non-Elinchrom units and speedlights can be integrated into the wireless setup via the Elinchrom Skyport Receiver Plus.
Engineered to Last
Every aspect of the ELC 125 has been designed and rigorously tested to deliver maximum reliability and extended lifetime. Elinchrom created the ELCs to last through your next adventure.
Stay Cool Under Pressure
With Elinchrom's Smart Pro-Active Cooling, the ELC's learn your shooting style and adapt their cooling cycles around it, never interrupting your creative flow. Plus, their cleverly engineered airflow design and low-noise speed-controlled fan can handle the heaviest of workloads.
Explore More
As important as a solid studio strobe is, the light modifier is where the real magic happens. The bayonet Quick-Lock system grants you direct access to Elinchrom's world-renown light modifiers. Combined with the ELC's bright, daylight-balanced LED modeling lamp to aid your pre-visualization.
Expansive Flexibility
Your equipment should never limit you. Whether you are experimenting in your living room or working in a large studio, the ELC 125 can acclimate. ELCs can be powered down to 7Ws so that you can reach your desired depth of field or add only a hint of light. Plus, with HSS, you can freeze motion, overpower ambient light, and darken backgrounds.
Edit Less, Deliver Faster
Elinchrom's precise color science and accuracy over the whole power range enables you to deliver professional and consistent results to your clients with less wasted time and money in post-production.

Elinchrom ELC 125 Reviews

Solid workhorse, consistent, high quality lighting

I've had a set of ELB500's for some time, but my main studio strobes were a different brand so I decided to go all Elinchrom. These lights are built like tanks, are powerful, and provide a consistent, high quality output. And the recycle time is unbelievably fast. I also purchased the Skyport Bridge, and run the Elinchrom studio software on my computer (and I shoot tethered) so now I can control/modify the power for the lights all from my computer (or phone) easily. Highly recommended!

What cable do I need to update the firmware? It says to plug in a USB cable but the port on the strobe isn't USB.
Asked by: Raul
It doesn't have a USB C input port. I wish it did as that would be the simplest and fastest. It is a mini USB port.
